I am able to get the projection of the laptop image, however, when I start the DVD player on the computer, I lose the projection image. The DVD is playing on the laptop but nothing appears on the screen. mjh

Re: Won't project DVD playing in a PC laptop
My first thought, based on what you said, is for you to check the resolution being sent to the projector...if it's too high,(above the projector's ability to display it) you'll get a distorted or even a blacked-out display. Also, check the settings for the program which is running the DVD. There could easily be an option set incorrectly.

WELL IF YOU HAVE CONNECT IT TO A LAPTOP THEN PRESS FN AND F2.. (F2 OR SOME OTHER F KEY WITCH IT SWITCH THE SCREEN FROM LAPTOP TO PC AND OPPOSITE.. IF IT IS ON A DESKTOP COMPUTER THEN GO TO YOUR VIDEO CARD SETTINGS AND SEE IF IT IS TUNED AS AN EXTENDED DESKTOP.. IF YES THEN CHANGE IT :)
A great deal of the time DVD players are very restrictive on outputting to multiple sources due to copyright protection. In my experience, if you use your laptops function keys to toggle output (For example, on my laptop, I hit FUNCTION + F4 to cycle between LCD,LCD+VGA,VGA), you should be able to disable the laptop's LCD display, only outputting via the VGA cable. It's worked for me with my HP VP6111 and Windows XP in the past.
Hope this helps!
