Question about Computer Monitors

1 Answer

My monitor i have a LG F700V CTR flatron monitor. so recently i changed my CPU. normally the resolution i use is 800 x 600. so this time i wanted to use 1152 x 862 resolution. but after i setup to the resolution 1152 x 862 this resolution does not support the monitor. what happens is when i put it to 1152 x 862 it stays. and when i restart the computer it automatically goes to the 800 x 600 resolution. so each & every time when i on my CPU i have to keep on changing the display resolution to 1152 x 862. so i want to know why this happen. note: i have not installed my monitor driver (F700V driver) i want to know is, does this happens because i have not installed the monitor driver or is this F700V monitor does not support a such resolution. Your monitor supports a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024. If windows fails to give you the option of changing to this resolution and those below it then please follow these suggestions:

Update your video card drivers, if you don't know the manufacturer of your video card try windows update.

Install the latest drivers for your monitor as well.

It means your PC video output resolution is too high for the LG monitor to display (your old monitor (CRT) can handle higher resolution than this LG LCD monitor), you need to set the PC video resolution to native resolutionof this monitor which is 1280 x 1024 @60Hz. You may have to use the old monitor (CRT) to set the resolution to 1280 x 1024@60Hz, then hook up the LCD monitor.

Black screen on my LG Flatron lcd 563le

I solved the problem myself by disconnecting the monitor from the computer and then I unplugged the computer. I restarted the computer in position fail safe (F8) and tried to change the monitors resolution back to origin, failed to do so and rebooted instead. When Windows loaded up the problem was gone! Yipeyiiiii!
