Nothing to worry. the mechanism engaged for doing this gets damaged. a good repairer will fix it.

Why is my camera taking picture in reverse through the viewfinder?

This sounds like a mechanical problem inside the camera. If it has a flip-up mirror behind the lens, for example, the mirror may be stuck in the up position. Have it serviced by a qualified technician.

Pictures that I am taking with my Canon Rebel EOS suddenly were black on 3/4 of the picture. I checked pictures taken in the camera just before this happened and they are OK, so I don't think it

I think there is a problem with the mirror in the camera that lifts out of the way when you hit the shutter. It may be stuck or not fully retracting. Take it into a camera shop and have them check it.

How do I clean the prism for my 7000i Monolta camera

Never touch lens elements or eyepiece with your fingers. If the lens becomes dirty, clean it gently with a lens brush. Only if necessary, moisten a sheet of lens tissue with one drop of lens-cleaning fluid. Then, starting at the center and using a circular motion, lightly wipe the glass surface.
Never lift the mirror or touch its surface, as this may impair its alignment. Dust specks on the mirror's surface will not affect meter readings or picture quality; if they are annoying, have the camera cleaned with soft cotton buds or cloth.

Bottom 3/4 of photos are black

Check out this website

I had the same problem. You can check to make for sure by removing your lens, and carefully lifting your mirror. Does the sub mirror underneath flatten against the other one when you lift it? That's probably what is in the way creating your 3/4 "black" picture. I just repaired mine as in this website, and the mirror moves great now! Of course, I'm used to taking apart laptops and such. If you have a warranty yet, contact Canon. It is a defective issue on there part.

Not taking a complete picture

Broken focus mirror pin. Gently lift mirror and see if the tiny focus mirror behind folds flat to the bigger mirror. If not then the pin needs replacing. Problem is that it takes some time and most of the camera needs to be disassembled to get to it inside.

I have a Canon Rebel EOS digital. When I take a picture, the bottom two thirds of the picture is black.

Take the lens off and carefully lift the mirror - if the sub-mirror underneath the main mirror doesn't follow the main mirror up, the stop-pin has broken off and has to be repaired by a camera shop. A common problem.

Wont take Picture

Check for the obvious -- shutter speed, aperture, and ISO set appropriately to give you a well-exposed image, and lens caps off. If none of those are the problem, then there's a problem with the mirror, the shutter, or the sensor itself. You can carefully look inside the mirror box with the lens removed, and see if anything is blocking the motion of the mirror. If you don't see anything (or, honestly, if you do), take it to a trusted camera shop or call Olympus's repair center.

Canon 400D

This is a Single Lens Reflex Camera
As such it is not possible to take a photo via the LCD.
The image comes into the camera and to the viewfinder via a mirror.
When pushing the button to take the picture - the mirror lifts to allow the image to go to the CCD.
There is no way to change this with this model

Nikon D50 LCD Display does not work

NatD, The D50 and indeed most SLR digital cameras [ I have a D40 ] does not allow you to take pictures using the LCD display ... this is by design, you are meant to use the viewfinder and the image you see through it is straight through the lens via a mirror block [ called a reflex pentamirror or prism ]. When the mirror is down such that you can see the image in the viewfinder it is obscuring the sensor [ the bit that takes the picture ] and when you take a shot the mirror lifts and the picture is recorded. Its this reason that DSLR's dont use the LCD to shoot, however there are a few now available that do let you do this, such as olympus, new panasonic one and higher end Nikon and Canon cameras. Hope this explains it without getting too detailed!

Camera won't take a picture

It could be that the shutter has gone out or the mirror is not going up they are only rated to last for so many shots. That is what canon told me when my 10d did the same thing. I dont remember what the repair cost was.
