Rand mcnally dock wont open


When your device is connected properly to your computer the Rand McNally dock will start automatically.

After confirming your device is connected properly manually start the dock. Select the start menu on your computer and locate the Rand McNally Dock in your program list. This action may vary based on the computer and operating system you have. If this works please note the default setting is for the dock to start automatically when your GPS is connected. Please ensure you have not disabled the auto-start function. Select Settings & Maintenance and confirm the ON option is selected under the Autostart settings.

If you cannot manually start the dock an anti-virus program may be blocking it. Does lowering your security settings allow the dock to start? If you disable the anti-virus will the dock start?

If the Rand McNally Dock will not launch after trying the above steps you will need to call Technical Support for additional troubleshooting.

When calling please have your device available to connect to your computer when instructed to do by Tech Support. You will also need to be at a computer with a broadband internet connection. If these items are not available a rep will not be able to resolve the issue.

What does page mean on the menu? I cannot get the master clock to set to the proper time and syncronize with the building clocks.


The term "Page" in the menu of many devices - not just GPS units is used to indicated that there are additional settings or options. They couldn't all be shown in the "main setup" page, so they are place on additional pages. Pressing "next", "more", or even "page" (or similar) will usually advance the display to present the next page(s) of options.

No time showing on the screen


Select the system settings from the main menu, then you select the time format, set the time to the proper time, there is an option to display the time from the settings. Once you select the display time it will display time on the home screen of the device.

I dont know the pin number for my garmin


You must return to with-in 50 meters of the SECURITY LOCATION of where you first setup your gps to automatically unlock your gps and reset Pin Number

most are set up at your home or office location

The only other way is to send your gps back to GARMIN to have it unlocked with the proper receipt of ownership

All Garmins GPS are registered before maps are unlocked so they would have a record of your serial number on hand with your proper name and address..... if the unit was transfered to you the original owner must call garmin with the information

Tom Tom 130 will not power-up ( no working screen) when power button is activated.

Make sure the 'North Up' is set to 'True' in the settings.

Unit thinks it is in kansas, cannot use in al.


Have to set "Home" before the unit starts behaving properly. Do that by using the "Where To Button" -> "My Locations" -> Set Home

Screen Brightness Plugged in Vs. unplugged


Well sir its very easy , did you read your manual.

Increase your birgtness with the proper way. Everyhting is there.
Your set up is rprobably set to be dimms after 10 or 30 seconds.

I set mine to off . And no dimms.

Read the manual carefully and you will love your unit 660.

Hi,
Could it possibly be your backlight setting? I had a problem with my screen staying dark until i set the brightness level.
settings -> system -> backlight -> brightness -. then adjust your settings.
