may want to check the library in iTunes to make sure the files are there on your hard drive and on your iPod if the problem persists clear your library and make iTunes find your music in your hard drive again and try placing the music onto the device once more

You need to install Itunes on your computer

you have to install itunes or the other way is to go to "my computer" left click and on the pop up menu that appears make the hidden files visible. then access the ipod and you can drag and drop. However the music is then not optimized at all and will not be in any kind of order so its almost always best to just go to www.apple.com and select the itunes tab and install that.

Click yes and if you have no music or videos in the library it will clear the nano. If you have songs or videos in the library it will replace whatever was on the nano with whatever is in the library.

Aaah, very simple procedure. First, plug your new iPod into your computer. Second, open up iTunes. Third, your computer should recognize your new iPod and will prompt you to go through a simple iPod set up, then it will ask you if you want to sync your music library to it.

ipods dont use windows media player to sync with your computer. they use itunes available at apple.com
