Sony Blink Codes Rear Projection Sets Report Email Written by RustyM62 on document.write(LocalTime.getShort('1241232540000')); May-1-09 7:49pm From: the-tv-dude.blogspot.com
Unit is dead, No blinks - Problem in the standby power section. Might check fuse, R607, Q601, IC601, R612 and VDR601 (should show open).
Continuous blink once a second, no pausing - No reply from the jungle IC301 (data bus is busy, shorted to ground, or held high), IK video path is defective.
One blink - not used for the self-diagnosis
Two blinks - B+ over current protection (OCP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of any of the circuits.
Three blinks - B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672.
Four blinks - No vertical Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505
Five blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.
Six blinks - No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.
Seven blinks - High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits.
Eight blinks - Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code. Check IC406 audio amp, PS401, and 402. On some projection models of Sony TV sets, this code means that T8005 (flyback transformer), or the associative components in the high voltage circuits are defective on the D board. This can be caused by bad picture tube may also see burnt components on the crt pcb.
Nine blinks - Replace D 6116 and D 6301 on the "G" board. Panel Module Error or Thermal Error. If it is intermittent 9 blinks, meaning that sometimes the TV comes on and at other times you get flashing, then change the switching regulator on the "G" board or check connections. Make sure the regulator is -12v or -13v.
Ten blinks - Check Q8014 and Q8013 for shorts, leakage, or bad solder connections on the " D" board. If the transistors are bad, check R8051 and IC8005, also on the "D" board.

How to reapir on tv is no power

Hi malinao,

Here are some basic steps that will help you fixing the problem.

I'm assuming that your unit is dead set without an standby LED light and your outlet is live.1.Power cord - check the cord it might be opened (no continuity). This is due to frequent bending, pulling. 2. Power switch - check for dry joints, open contact. 3.Check the internal fuse- sometimes the fuse fail because of the power surge, replacing with new one will cure the problem, If this is the case I would advice you to use surge protector/AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator). However if the fuse blew again this is an indication that you have a shorted parts in the power supply, you may visit the linkhttp://www.fixya.com/support/r8053361-fuse_keeps_blowing for more info. If no reaction and still the unit didn't power up then you have an open parts on the power supply.

4.If you see that the fuse is intact , don't attempt to touch anything because there some fatalcomponents stored electricity enough to hurt you with a simple mistake only. I would advice you to look for a professional to troubleshoot the power supply. If you want to repair it yourself make sure that you have necessary tools and test instrument. First check bad solder joints(re-solder all cold solder), leaky electrolytic capacitor(sometimes it has bulged at the top but not all, you better have a capacitor checker), open/shorted regulator transistor/IC(mounted in heat sink), open fusible resistor (caused by shorted regulator Transistor/IC), shorted zener diode.

You may also replace the power supply board for your convenient, it will not require any soldering, obtain the board from your local Sony Service Centers.

Also check if your unit is under warranty before opening the back panel, it will void the warranty. Avail it because the manufacturer of your unit will fix it for free or a little charge only.

Hope I helped you.

Have a nice day!

Thanks for using fixya.

Model # wd-62725 reset light will not reset, keeps blinking rapidly.

This is an indication that you have a problem on the power supply section or on the load because of the following reasons :

1. Over Voltage - the regulator might be cycling on over voltage due to lack of load.

2. Over Current Protection - excessive load or faulty power supply cycling will

trigger the over current protection circuit.

3. Leaky Capacitor - a dried up main filter capacitor or other filter capacitor in the power supply that is producing an out-of-regulation condition. A bad filter capacitor on the output of a series regulator may result in excessive/drop of voltage once sense by the processor it will not power up the unit unless isolated.

4. A problem with the microcontroller, relay or its driver, or standby power supply.

This is not DIY and quite technical so I've advice you to look for a qualified technician or send it to repair shop to isolate the problem.

But first check if your unit is under warranty then avail it because the manufacturer of your unit will fix it for free or with a little charge only.

Thanks for using fixya.

I have seen that model have bad capacitors on the power supply which will cause that symptom. Replacement parts are very hard to come by for Polaroid TVs, But I can post a link which may be able to locate or rebuild your power supply for you. Just leave them a email with your model number and symptom. Heres the link.

Power supply regulator for rca 52" home theatre twin tuner pip

no parts from a pioneer wont work. There are roughly 4 regulators for the power supply maybe 5. The sad thing is they cost between 7 and 20.00 , he didnt happen to mention which power supply was affected did he? You would have to check the various regulators out of circuit to determine which one is bad. If its a F.E.T they are hard to check without the proper equipment.
