Get an inexpensive card reader and use it to download your pics to your computer. Then, format the card in the camera to erase and initialize it. It should work properly then and your pics will be safely stored on your computer.
if it's just seen on the XD card, then those pics were not saved in the internal/built in memory of the camera. Anyway, if you want to delete pics in the XD memory, just insert it in the card reader of your computer then just delete the pictures or format the memory card.
Try http://www.spartanphotocenter.com/digital-camera-sensor-cleaning.html the card needs a data recovery (using special recovery software) and then a reformat. That may get most of your pictures back, but there will most likely be some (can't say how many or why) that will be corrupt and not usable. If the corrution is really bad no pictures will be available. No way to know except by attemoting a data recovery.
May sound naive to you, but sometimes, particularly in XD card, when it is not being read by a card reader or camera, just try to wipe it's Copper plates firmly with your thumb and try again. Repeat the process. It happened with me and i tried it accidently once, and it worked, and it has worked many times. Don't scratch the copper plates, just wipe with ur thumb. Hope it works for you too. Good Luck.
Try to use a card reader instead. They are only a few dollars. I use one all the time, and hardly ever will use the camera on different models I have. Never delete from the PC to the camera. It can cause corruption. Once corrupted, you may lose all pictures on the card. Always delete from the camera, unless you will format the card anyway. Use the camera and try to delete the bad picture from the camera. this may fix the problem, if not, try to read from another camera or a card reader...don't ever delete from another camera or the card reader.
The last is not good, and that means to format the card, and you will lose all which is on the card. You may try to copy to internal memory.
One more thing... take out the card. reset all in the camera menu. Then reset all the things you like. Put the card in and try to read each picture in play mode only. If one picture is very slow, delete it. This may take some time as corrupted files may read slowly. then try again.
my camara showing error message that clean card or format card,
i have some important photo in memory card so i can,t format the memory card.
while i am connecting with USB cable it,s showing syntex error
help me to retive the thw data..
Hey! Yeah i managed to resolve the problem and keep all the pics too. I used one of those kodak touch screen machines in a camera shop where you put the memory card in and downloaded all the pics onto cd. When i had checked that they were all on the cd's, i formatted the memory card and it has been fine ever since.
Hope this helps!
