this is a very bad problem. ive had a 360 4 times and still has this problem well im really sorry to tell you but ur 360 is dead. but u can wrap a towel which will probably last ur 360 a good month, then it'll break again. or you could spend a couple bucks to repair and probably last for 5 months. its a 50/50 chance itll last that long
OK there Eran my guess is that you sent it to MS for the Ring of Death. > What was repaired? >Did they replace the console (Make Sure>> They gave me a new and I did not realize it until a month later.) > If they did is there a refurbished stamp on console anywhere >Are you on-line (xbox live) check your account or change account names etc. >Is your HD 20gig and did it come with your system or did you add it > You have not added any MODs to the hard drive if so??? >Check the serial and date of the HD it may be that you need to download a patch. > Bejeweled was downloaded through Marketplace so if your are connected than you have the latest version of Xbox Live. >Last>>>> if you do try to go into your 360s Menu System and reset you system back to default. (MAKE sure the HD is not installed!)
the new cpu die on the 360's help it run a lot cooler but the real problem is the gpu die which is not scheduled to change until next year. You could try adding a shim and screw replace the xbraces/stand-offs.
All xbox 360 are given a warranty for the 3 rings of death. If you call microsoft and tell them that your xbox 360 continues to get the rings of death, they will mail you a box, take your console, repair it, install the latest hardware, test it, and mail it back to you for free.
Hey Tafari, It's an overheating issue that is common in xbox 360 models made between a certain date range. I had the same problem a few months ago.
All you gotta do is contact Microsoft tech support and provide them with your serial number. They'll ask you a couple of questions and then they'll get you to ship them the 360. (They pay for shipping)
They'll try to repair it, but if your lucky like me, you might get a new xbox 360 with 1 month of xbox live for free.
Hope this helps. Worked for me, should work for you.
That is a very odd problem. Unless you have a special warranty, the unit will not get replaced for a new one until it cannot be fixed by a tech. You have to write or e-mail Microsofts contact in your manual and complain about the games getting destroyed by the Xbox. They may want to see copies of the receipts for the games too, but be very firm with them or they will not take you serious.
