Belkin54, secured (password key I created). Visitors to my home unabkle to get in when I add the security key when asked. I don't have anyone else in range of my network anyway (house is in river valley and no neighbors in range) so I'd like to just remove the security key altogether. How do I do this? Can't find any info for doing so...???? Thanks

Re: No access for other laptops on my wireless router
You need to access the router's setup page using a computer that has Internet connection through the router. To do that, launch IE from that computer and type 192.168.2.1. It will then asks for a username/password. Try leaving the username and password blank. If that doesn't work, try admin for username and leave the password blank.
It will then open your router's setup page. Just click on wireless tab on the left panel and then click security. There you can set security mode to disable.

SID broadcast allows computers to quickly locate a new network and connect to it. In wireless home networks computers often use only the home network, which makes SSID broadcast unnecessary. Disabling SSID broadcast adds a bit of security to your wireless network, because computers won't be able to see your network's SSID. Log into the router.
Open your webbrowser and type http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar. This is the default IP address of the browser.
Type your login info in the login screen. Default: 'admin' (without quotes) in both fields.
Go to Wireless > Basic Wireless Settings 'wireless
Set SSID broadcast to 'disable'.
Click Save Settings.
On the next page you will set a router password to prevent unwanted visitors from accessing your router setup.

Hi Berry, On the back of your router
there is a reset button, press and hold that when power on, until all the
lights are blinking simultaneously (about 30 sec). Connect a computer to any one
of the four LAN ports of the Belkin wireless router. DO NOT use a wireless
connection, use a cable. Open your web browser and type
the IP address of the router (by default, the address is http://192.168.2.1.)
in the address bar and press Enter. Click Login on
the top of the page to login to the router. By default the Password is
left blank, clickSubmit. Click Security under
Wireless menu. Under Security,
Select 64 bit WEP (or 128 bitWEP). Select Key 1 and
enter any 10 hexadecimal digits - any combination of 0-9, A-F (26 digits if you
selected 128-bit as the encryption strength). You may also enter a pass phrase
and have the router generate a key for you. Example (0102030405060708090a0b0c) Apply the settings. Please write down the key – You will need it
later to configure your wireless computers with the same key. Remember to set an adminpassword before you close
down, other vice anyone can access you router and change the setup and admin
password. /regards Teis
Since you want to access the router setup page and get the wireelss security for your laptop you can try this: Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape. Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the ip address of your router. By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.1.1. You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now. By default the username is blank, and the password is admin. Click the Ok button to log in to your router.
When you're already on the setup page of the router youc an go to Wireless tab and click on Wireless security and there you can find the security key that you need....
If the default password didn't work you need to reset the router by pressing the reset button for 15 seconds so it will be back to its default settings with default password which is admin.
But if you successfully log in to the router page just go to the Wireless tab and there you can find all the wireless settings of your router including the wireless security key...
