SOURCE: code p 1446 solenoid valve malfunction in sentra 2005

I have the same problem with my 2005 sentra. It is the vent control valve. The only cheap way to fix this would be to take it off and spray wd-40 and see if it works. You could also get the part form a junk yard. Nissanpartsdirect also has it. I beleive it is officially called the vapor canister.

IAC valve has gone bad. Its located on the throttle body and is what controlls/keeps the vehicle running at idle.

Check the EGR air passage tube again.

You may miss some on the first pass.

====

Check for

vacuum leaks on intake manifold,

the air tube between the air filter.

intake manifold vacuum hose.

===
clean throttle plate with Berryman carburator cleaner

SEE sample picture HERE
===

Also remove carbon built up behind the EGR valve and the EGR passage tube.

===

Vacuum leak WILL offset the intended 14.7 to 1 air fuel ratio.

More un-metered air (leaks) will lean out the fuel mixture.

Use small amount of Berryman carb clearer at potential air leak area will help you identify trouble spot.

At idle,just spray and listen for the RPM surge.

The in-rush of carb clearer will increase the RPM on the motor.

Record the problem spot(s) and address it later.

===

EGR carbon built up require 2+ hours to clean from start to finish.

You will need a new EGR base gasket before your start.

Locate and remove the EGR valve after the vehicle is cool down.

Carefully record the connector and vacuum line (for older vehicle) location by drawing an easily to follow diagram.

Remove the EGR valve.

Inspect the location of the carbon built-up inside the valve and the EGR passage tube.

SOAK these areas with WD-40 spary.

You will need a small screwdriver,cloth hanger and lot of newspaper and time to get this cleaning done right.

RE-SOAK the carbon and let it sit for over-night will also help.

One the last round,pass a shop vacuum of the EGR valve and the passage pipe.

Install the new EGR gasket and connectors.

Allow the vehicle to warm up outdoor to burn up any remaining WD-40.

Take it for a test drive.

Replaced front and fuel tank evap solenoid still getting po443 code on 2011 chevy cruze what is a solution

Try a new gas cap, that is usually the culprit. Around $20 on up for keyed at any part store. And easy to put on.

Does the purge valve keep the engine from starting?

You got the code

You can google the code to learn about it

Type: OBD PO443

The internet will explain the valves function & location,etc

The fact you have a code don't mean the part is bad

It may well be,but the evap system has to be tested & the
valve component tested & fail to need replacement

Nothing to do with starting

It opens to pull fuel tank fumes into the engine & burn them
based on computer strategy

If it is stuck open then you get unmetered air into the motor &
it can effect your fuel trim & cylinder firing

Po443 p0443

The valve is mounted on the engine near the middle of the intake on most models.
Keep in mind the code is for a problem with the circuit which may or may not involve the actual valve. The valve and control would need to be tested.

Hi there:
Potential Causes could be the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Purge Solenoid, fail on Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or damage wiring harness.

In THIS LINK could check additional specific details about this generic code.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

How do I fix fault code po443?

P0443 INFINITI - EVAP Canister Purge Volume Control Solenoid Valve

Possible causes- EVAP control system pressure sensor
- Damage harness or connectors to the Purge Control Valve
- The valve circuit is open or shorted
- EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve may be faulty (The valve is stuck open)
Tech notes It's a very common problem with Infiniti vehicles. If the harness is not damaged, it's very likely that the problem is the canister purge volume control solenoid valve.

Check engine light on , code po443 1998 sonata

To cause a P0443, there has to be a problem with the purge control CIRCUIT, not necessarily the valve. Usually they are a unit housing the valve and the solenoid as an assembly. Or it could be comprised of a separate solenoid with vacuum lines to a purge valve. That said, it could be any of the following:
  • Bad purge solenoid (internal short or open)
  • Wiring harness chafing or rubbing another component causing short or open on control circuit
  • Connector worn, broken or shorted due to water intrusion
  • Driver circuit inside powertrain control module (PCM) is bad
I would just clear out the code and if it returns then try the above. Hope this helps you a little bit!

Sincerely,

JC
