  • Anonymous Dec 13, 2008

I have XP and SP2 .. and a clean OS install and using LiveOneCare trial version. When I am searching via new tabs, it will just close or crash IE7 completely and have to go at it again. Am thinking of returning to IE6.

  • Anonymous Dec 13, 2008

Did a fresh OS install ... using XP & SP2 and trying out the LiveOneCare trial. Had used IE6 prior to OS wipe, so decided to try IE7 on this install ... but, it closes on me or crashes when doing searches with the tabs. This is a royal pain.

Internet Exployer stops working and then (usually) restarts automatically. It will let me go to a website but than stops after I use one or two links.

My internet keep crashing

If your Internet Explorer keeps randomly crashing (closing by itself), there may be an add-on or temporary page disrupting the connection. Every time you browse the web, Internet Explorer keeps track of the websites you visit. It keeps these pages, along with cookie trackers, in the "Temporary Browsing History" folder. Some websites cause Internet Explorer to crash.

Open the Internet Explorer browser. Go to "Tools > Delete Browsing History." Hit "Delete All." Check off the box that says "Also delete files and settings stored by add-ons." Hit "OK." Close and reopen the browser. b> Disable Add-Ons b> Go to "Start > Search." Type "Internet Explorer" and hit "Enter." The computer will search for any files with this label. Double-click on the file that says "Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons)." This will allow you to browse in IE without any additional plug-ins or add-ons that might be causing the browser to crash. b> Reset Internet Explorer b> Open the IE browser. Go to "Tools > Internet Options." Hit "Advanced." Click on "Reset" and then hit "Enter." Close and reopen the browser. Hope this helps.

Spybot keeps telling me I have browers open on Internet. How do I find them and close them?

A browser is google or Internet explorer for example so close them if they are open, or if they are minimized on the taskbar at the bottom of screen just right click on them and click close.

How do i empty cach.

spacer.gif spacer.gif spacer.gif spacer.gif A full browser cache can slow down your surfing experience. When the cache is full, the browser has to search for the oldest cache segment and delete it before writing the new segment. Since all browsers cache pages as they go, it's easy to see how a full cache can lead to problems. It's a good idea to get in the habit of emptying your cache on a regular basis, generally after you finish your web surfing for the day. To empty the cache in Microsoft's Internet Explorer, follow these steps:
Open Internet Explorer (you don't have to be online) and click on tools/internet options.
Under Temporary Internet Files, click on delete files.

ip.jpgClick ok to the prompt that comes up.
That's it!

Can not delete browsing history, even after reseting explore 8, most of the browsing history is still there.

How did you try to clean the Browsing History? Manually from the Internet History folder or with the "Disk Cleanup" wizard or from the "Internet Options".
All these are to be done while the internet explorer is closed, otherwise you'll never be able to clean/delete them. But to clean histories or caches or cookies or temp files, there are many free tools to remove them safely and without loosing time.
You can use Ccleaner to clean the system. (Click Here to download), download and install Ccleaner. Open the program and click "Run Cleaner", that'll automatically clean most of the junk files which are no longer necessary. Please note that all browsers should be closed.
If you have problem doing this, please let me know with more details.

Good luck
Thanks for using FixYa.

Internet explorer closes down after 45 secs, no warning just shuts down, firefox also shuts down. Only on laptop and after microsoft updates had been added. Restored to time prior to updates but problem...

Try Resetting Internet Explorer to its default settings. This removes all changes made to Internet Explorer since it was installed, but does not eliminate your bookmarks or feed. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Close all Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer in Windows.
2. Click Start, And then click Internet Explorer.
3. In Internet Explorer, click the Tools menu and then click Internet Options.
4. Click the Advanced tab and then click Reset.
5. In the readjustment of Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
6. When Internet Explorer finishes restoring the default settings, click Close, and then click OK twice.
7. Close Internet Explorer and then reopen it.

If resetting Internet Explorer to its default settings does not fix the problem, uninstall Internet Explorer 8 and then reinstall it. Also run AdAware, scanned for viruses, disable 3rd party, disable microsoft firewall, and check for BHO's.
