Question about HTC PPC-6800 Smartphone

HTC PPC6800 WM 6.1 alarm keeps sounding

Hello,

I set one of the alarms in the alarm section of the phone for 6:30 am and now it keeps going off. I have unchecked the box, changed the time of the alarm, changed the name of the alarm and the time of the alarm and made sure it was turned off and no matter what it still sounds at 6:30 am with the same name as I originally named it. I suspect somewhere in the software there is another alarm that was set by this function and needs to be turned off or it is a glitch with the OS but it is driving me nuts hehehe...

Thanks in advance with your help.

Dave

Did you set the alarm before the update? I've heard of similar issues and the only real way to avert this alarm is to have your phone actually have an alarm set to a different time.

Alarm setting

What settings in alarm do you need to set? In case you want to set the alarm time, tap Start >> Settings. Go to System tab and open Click and Alarms, tap on Alarms tap at the bottom and you may set the alarms from there.
In order to set the alarm tone, tap Start >> Settings. Open Sounds and Notifications in Personal tab, make sure that the checkbox for Programs and Notifications is checked. Now go to Notifications tab, in the event select Reminders and you may configure the alarm behavior and ring tone in there.

Converting HTC PPC6800-US Cellular to Alltel-can this be done?

Yes, and No. Both companies want to see their cases on each phone (us cellular is actually blank). Alltel maintains a list of ESNs of all the phones they bought and sold in database. If your ESN aint there, they probably won't activate it.

But, the software for alltel versionof PPC6800 is located at htcamerica.com

Low alarm tone

I think i can help you. The problem I'm having is that the alarm tone is too brief an too low. So brief that it doesn't come close to waking me up. Try this, Have someone send you a ring tone or some thing u want to wake up to. Within the message there is an option that will let u save the sound in your documents or ring tone folder. Try both. An hopefully when you set your alarm tone it will allow you to set the music, sound you just saved. If that doesn't work the HTC website has a trouble shooting section. I think it addresses this problem. Good luck i hope this helps

Alarm doesn't turn off

You should just be able to go into your alarm settings and turn off the set alarm times. UNLESS you have it set up to ring at intervals of 5 minutes, 10 minutes etc. If you cannot turn it off after checking the alarm settings, it may be malfunctioning and you will need to contact customer service, or take your phone to your local store.

Cannot turn off the alarm

The problem appears to have resolved itself. The oly changes I made to the smartphone was to power it off and insert 16GB mini SD memory card. Since powering back up I have not had the alarm warning.

Set and switch alarm on, show date

Possibly need to do a hard reset. When my HTC gets buggy, I reset it. It is a pain in the a$$. Run your backups then proceed to http://www.htcwiki.com/page/Doing+a+hard+reset?t=anon for more detailed instructions.

If you would like us to take a look before you reset, go here:

Best if you keep all you docs/pics/music on the mini-SD card.

T-mobile dash multiple alarms

The solution is a follows; If you have any legit alarms already set, disable them before proceeding

1) As soon as the unwanted alarm goes off , look at what time your phone says it is and make a note of it. (if you know EXACTLY what time it goes off at, then go to the next step)

2) Goto Start -> Clock & Alarm -> Alarm

3) Set the alarm time for the exact time from step #1. Set alarm to On.

4) Click Done, done, and done

5) Goto Start -> Clock & Alarm -> Alarm

6) Change the alarm to Off.

7) Click Done, done, and done

That's it, the alarm should now be disabled for this unwanted alarm, if you have multiple unwanted alarms, repeat this procedure for each.
