Acer 1691wlmi 4-in-1 card reader wont' work - Acer PC Desktops

    Hi:

The slot in question is a 4-in-1 card reader (on the right side of the laptop; handles a range of SD and other small memory cards... The card itself is OK in a camera - and on the laptop if used via a USB-card reader adapter (any of one of several makes). I have not tried to use the built-in 4-in-i adapter until now; in fact don't think I realised it was there...?

The ePower settings are set to allow the card to read...; likewise the Firewire... And my memory is that the Firewire didn't work a while back when I tried to use that too. But since most/all of my add-in kit is USB... Firewire hasn't been an issue; although it would be nice to have working too?

Acer Aspire 1691wlmi

This reader is part of (as in - built-into) the laptop. External readers (via USB) work fine... Just the built-in one that won't...

Hi Traveler,

let me help you with this, but first...

Is it a USB Card Reader?

has it worked before on any other pc that you know of?

when you plug it into your computer does windows detect it?have you been able to install it?

If it doesnt detect it does the card reader itself have a power switch?

is there a light on the card reader? if so does it come on?

thanks in advance for answering my questions. I'm here to help.

Acer aspire t 180 cant get pc to recognize digital camera photo memory card

Has the computer recognized the memory card in the past? If so, try download and reinstalling the memory card driver.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Acer Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Card Reader drivers.

If after installing the drivers the reader still does not work, you can purchase a multi format card reader that will plug into you usb port from Tiger Direct for less than $15. at

http://www.tigerdirect.com

When the site comes up just put in the search at the top "SD Card Reader or XD Card Reader" depending you your type and press GO. You can sort the returned results by Price Low to High.

Do you have a USB Cable that came with the camera that you can plug into one of the usb ports on the computer? If so, try that. It's another way of getting pictures off the camera. Plug the cable on the camera and into the computer then turn the camera on. The computer will recognize the camera and install the drivers. You can navigate through the camera folders just like you do any other device to find the pictures.

Acer t180 card reader problem not work yet! do i need driver?

Hello,

The card reader is integrated with Windows Vista and XP so you will not need additional drivers.Make sure that your card reader is connected properly on your mainboard. At the back of you cardreader, there should be one thick black cable going onto the mainboard.

ACER ASPIRE T180

This is a difficult one. It could be the card itself or the card is not formatted.

You may need to buy a card reader that has itself own driver for this format.

http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/desktop/aspire_t180.html

Try looking on the ACER sirte for a driver taht is compatible...

other... buy a card reader at www.newegg.com that is compatiblie.

Pc acer aspire T650. My card reader fail so i took it out from my pc. Since then I have problem to make my pc read my external HD and the 2 usb in front don't work and since a very long time. Where can I...

hi,
Infact front USb ports are connected with the card reader it self.If you are havingthe separate connectors then you will have to connect those to motherboard to make those USBs to work.

You can get any 9 in one card reader from nearest hardware vendor and deploy it.

thanks

Acer 5920 does not work with sandisc 1gb memory card

Your Minolta camera uses file format, which is not recognized by PC and vice verse. When you insert, PC can't read it, and asks to format. But when it is formatted for PC, your camera can't read it. Try to format it in camera, if it's not possible, then get a new memory card and use USB cable to copy images.

Multi card reader fault after re-boot?

I have a akasa internal 3.5 card reader, 4 slots and a usb port, no fans. Installed ok and worked one time then dissappeared in my computer and device manager.

Looking at the plug it had a wire in where a dummy connector on the motherboard connects. Took the cover off the card reader and looked at the other end and on that connectot no wire. Reversed the lead and all up and running. No Quality assurance any more!

A card got stuck in the card reader but now it wont read any cards i put in, there is no hardware faults according to the device manager

If you were able to take the card out, take a close look with a flashlight to see if any pins (inside the card reader) are bent and/or making contact with other pins or the casing. They should be straight especially if it is a Compact flash memory reader (the older bigger media storage )
