Question about Digital Cameras

1 Answer

My casio Exilim will not take pictures or delete pictures.

Whenever I try to delete or take a picture the camera says ''the card is locked''  I can view pics that are already on there but that's it.  I tried taking the card out, turning it off and nothing helped

The lock sensor is faulty. Try clicking the card in and out about 20 times in a row. I am guessing you will need a whole new system board.

I cannot delete picture or take pictures on my Casio Exilim camera. I get "The card is locked" message.

Take the memory card out of your camera and look at it. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.
If that doesn't work, try another card.

I cant get my camera to delete pictures

If the slide switch on the side of the card is in the locked position, the camera can't delete any pics.

Card locked but its not

Memory cards are funny things that can sometimes currupt for various reasons i suggest you just buy a new memory card.
Try to retrieve the pictures you can get on your computer before you dispose of the old one.

Good luck

Can't delete pictures?

I would reset your camera to the factory settings to fix your settings being locked.
You can find that information on page 130 of your manual.
You can find your manual here
http://exilim.casio.com/current_owners/manuals

If you can't delete pictures on your camera or your card, you need to make sure Protect is not set to on. You can find that on page 90 of your manual.

Thanks for coming to FixYa, and don't forget to rate my solution.

Try formatting your card instead of just deleting.

Also make sure you are using either a Toshiba, Panasonic, or Sandisc memory card. Those are the only 3 that Casio has tested to use with their cameras.
