Geetings my name is Mark and I will be happy to assist you. I will assume you have a hp printer with the solution center as the software. Unfortunately hp loves to glorify their software with unnessary extras and the bad part is they all must be installed to operate properly. when the solution center popup occurs can you provide me with the message. Here is another way to stop this. Go to start then run in the bar type "msconfig" then enter, another box will appear at the top of the box there is a start tab. It will show you a list of start up items. look for items marked ":hp" and uncheck them. then apply, when you do this it will prompt you to restart, do so and when it restarts a box will appear that states you have made changes to your configuration there is a box that says "do not show again" check this box and ok it. Let me know if this helps!
Be mucho blessed,
Mark

Hi Sherylpus,

Congratulations on your new PC! Its always so exciting until your printer doesn't work eh? :)
OK down to business. I am going to need a few more pieces of information in order to help you.

What is the make and model of your printer? (you can usually find it in front for example HP 7960, if its not there then try the back or bottom of the printer)

Is it a new printer? or did you use it with your old XP system?

How is it connected to your computer? USB wire? Ethernet cable? (Ethernets like a big phone wire)

Has it ever worked with your new vista pc?

Have you ever had troubles like this before with this particular printer?

thanks in advance for answering my questions, I'm her to help you

Everytime i turn my computer on or restart, Creative product registration popup window keeps popping up. i close them and they keep coming back up right away. i also tried to register, but this did not...

turn off updates.

follow the steps to turn off windows vista update:

1. Click the "Start" button on the taskbar or press the "Windows Key" on your key board (located to the right of the Ctrl Key and left of the Alt Key)

2. In the search box enter the words "Windows Update" without the quotes you can copy the text directly from this page to make it easier.

3.On the left side of the window that opens it will have a list of options click on the option labeled "Change Settings".

4. After that you will have to make some choices. If you select "Install update Automatically" then you simply pick a time that is good for you and your computer will download the updates and install them when you are not on your computer. If you select "Download updates but let me install them" then you will download updates in the background while you are using your computer and then will ask you are the files are downloaded if you are ready to install them. If you decide to select "Never Check For Updates" then your computer will never download or install updates.

5. If you select "Never Check For Updates" then it is highly recommend that you open "Internet Explorer" and visit "http://update.microsoft.com" at least once a month and install any updates that are labeled critical.

Disable Security Center Popup Notifications in Windows Vista

If you decide to turn off automatic updates, you’ll be annoyed to death with popup messages from the Security Center that tell you to “Check your computer security” or “Check your Firewall status” if you disabled the firewall. It’s a good thing you can turn those messages off.
Before we begin: I’d definitely recommend keeping the firewall enabled at all times.

To disable the popup messages shown above, right-click on the little red shield icon and choose Open Security Center from the menu. You could also open Security Center from the start menu.

Click the link for “Change the way Security Center alerts me”

Now you’ll see a dialog with three choices. Choose the bottom one if you don’t want the notifications anymore.

My screen is black and i cant get rid of this popup

This popup is a sign of a malware infection on your system. You can use ctrl+alt+ del to bring up the task manager, open the processes tab, and locate the pc.exe and agent.exe processes. Select them, right click and end process for each. That should temporarily get rid of the popup. (See link here, and here, but please don't follow the instructions given there to delete files, etc. Just kill the processes and use the following tools.)
Now you'll need to do some cleanup to remove the offending program from your system before you reboot.
Go to this link and follow the first 4 steps of the malware removal guide. Make sure to update MBAM before you scan, and make sure you follow through all 4 steps before restarting your computer. If you want detailed info on how to run the MBAM, as well as a good description of how you got this virus, click here. Then restart your system and see how it runs. I'd advise an indepth scan with your antivirus program to check for further problems, but that should take care of the privacy center rogue.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

My computer says that my printer is offline.

Please follow the steps given below to perform a self test on the printer:

1. Switch off the printer.
2. Press and hold down the paper feed button.
3. While keeping the paper feed button depressed, turn the power back on.
4. When the printer starts to print, release the paper feed button.
5. When the first page is printed, switch off the power (otherwise the printer will keep on printing).

HP Solution Center Popup

Greetings Sheryl,
My name is Mark and I will be happy to assist you. If that pop up is asking for an update go ahead and allow it. HP for some reason needs to update constantly. Here is one other method we can try. If you are running Vista on your computer go to start then right above start is a search box type in "run" and it will appear at the top of the box go ahead and click on it. A new box will appear you don't have to click anywhere just type"msconfig" and hit the enter or return button. A new box will appear this is your msconfig at the top will be some tabs click on the one that says start. another box will open and it will have programs in it with check marks next to them. Look for all the programs with "HP" in the beginning and uncheck them. Now click on apply and ok, it will prompt you to restart go ahead and do so. When it restarts a box will appear stating that "you have made changes to your configuration, there is a small box in the lower left corner that says "do not remind me again", click on that and ok the box. See if this works Sheryl if not contact me again and we will try somethin else.
Be mucho blessed,
Mark

Failure to comunicate with printer

Best to start from beginning, assuming your usb cable is ok. Remove printer from usb port, then uninstal printer driver. Re install printer driver and when prompted re connect printer(Use a different USB port, if have a spare one). Make sure windows finds new hardware, then identifies your printer(popup on right side of task bar), them watch for it telling you 'Your hardware is installed and ready to use'. Go to your printer folder in control panel and look on printers properties to see if it's on line. Come back if this does not cure it.
