Question about Muratec F-300 Fax

1 Answer

Toner ran out on Muratec f300

I want to forward all faxes stored in memory to another different fax machine. How is that possible? I have the manual and it doesn't show that I can do that.

SORRY CAN'T BE DONE. FAX FORWARDING RULES HAVE TO BE IN PLACE "BEFORE" DOCUMENTS ARE RECIEVED INTO MEMORY...THE F-300 ONLY HAD FAX FORWARDING IF IT WAS P.C. CONNECTED AND USING "OFFICE-BRIDGE"

How to I retrieve a fax that is stored in the memory and also, how do I clear the memory

If you run out of ink, paper, or the machine jams the fax will be stored in memory. After these conditions are cleared the "stored fax" will print and automatically clear from memory.

You can download the manual here ...

I am trying to retrieve a fax from the memory that was sent to me a couple weeks ago, is this possible?

Hi there!
It is possible if the fax storage of your fax machine is on. To check if its in press Menu 2 5 1, the lcd should show fax storage. and to print the fax press Menu, 2 5 3 to print the stored fax.
If the lcd shows off when you press Menu 2 5 1 there is no way to print that fax.
Hope this helps. Rate if it works. Thanks

I want to forward my faxes from my Panasonic machine to another # temporarily.. is this possible and how?

Fax forwarding You might want to set up fax forwarding if you are going on a trip, but still want to receive your faxes while you are away. There are three fax forwarding settings:
  • Off (default)
  • Forward-When your All-In-One receives a fax, it holds it in memory and then sends it to the fax number that you designate.
  • Print and Forward-Your All-In-One forwards the fax to the designated fax number and prints the fax.
To set up fax forwarding:
  1. On the control panel, press Fax.
  2. Press Options until Fax Forward appears, and then press Select.
  3. Use the arrow buttons to scroll to the option that you prefer (Fax Forward or Print and Forward) appears, and then press Select.
  4. Enter the number that you want to forward the fax to, and then press Select.

Fwd now appears on the bottom left corner of the display.

Memory full

This message usually shows up when you've received many faxes and haven't printed them, or when you have attempted to send faxes but they never made it and were kept in memory for a later date.
I would search in your user's manual how to clear the memory, since each manufacturer has a different way to do this, and the machine's menuing systems also differ from one manufacturer to another.
Good luck!

How to fax forward?

You can set your product to forward incoming faxes to another fax number. When the fax arrives at
your product, it is stored in memory. Then your product dials the fax number you have specified
and sends the fax. If it cannot forward a fax because of an error (for example, the number is busy)
and repeated attempts to redial are unsuccessful, your product will print the fax.
If the product runs out of memory while receiving a fax, it will terminate the incoming fax and only
forward the pages and partial pages already stored in memory.
When using this feature, the product must be the one receiving faxes (not the computer) and the
answer mode must be set to Automatic (see Changing how the product answers incoming faxes).
To use fax forwarding
1
Press menu/enter.
2 Use the < or > button to select Fax Setup and press menu/enter.
3 Use the < or > button to select Fax Recv. Setup and press menu/enter.
4 Use the < or > button to select Forward Fax and press menu/enter.
5 Press > to select On or Off and press menu/enter.
6 If you choose to turn fax forwarding on, use the alphanumeric buttons to enter the fax number
where you want the fax to go, and press menu/enter to save your selection.

Take the swinging drum cover off of the toer cartridge and throw it away. It's only for shipping. They come loose and block the paper path.

Put the number you want to forward to in a one touch number position. (if you have to dial 9 for an outside line, be sure to put that into the one touch number also).

Function 74 set 54 set 2 for valid set stop.

Answer to last question, probably...not.

It is more likely that there is a setting or error... are you receiving any error msges or alerts when you try to fax out?

Just in case here are the steps to turn off fax memory
  1. Follow these directions to turn off the fax memory.
  2. Press Menu/Set.
  3. Press the up or down navigation key until Fax appears and press Menu/Set.
  4. Press the up or down navigation key until Remote Fax Opt appears and press Menu/Set.
  5. Press the up or down navigation key until Fwd/Page/Store or Forward/Store appears and press Menu/Set.
  6. Use the up or down navigation key to select Fax Storage (or Off if you wish to disable Fax Storage). Press Menu/Set to confirm your choice.
  7. Press Stop/Exit to exit the menu.

Resending Faxes

This is possible. there are several requirements though.

youe first option is if you have two multi-function devices cable of sending and receiving e-mail. If you do, set the iR3320 up to forward the faxes to an e-mail or i-fax address (another name for a e-mail address). Set the other machine to receive the e-mails sent to the previously mentioned e-mail address.

Your other option is to set the iR3320 up to forward the faxes to a folder on a computer. In this case you can open and view the faxes and if you want them on paper, send the job to another printer.

This setup is rather tricky, so unless you have a really really really clued up I.T. guy, i would recommend that you have a Canon technician set this up for you.

Can I divert to another number?

To diver the number itself is a function of the phone company itself via an optional service called "call forwarding". Cost is only a few dollars a month, depending on your provider. Alternatly, you can use a function called "fax forwarding". In this mode, your fax machine will accept the incoming fax into memory and then dial the predefined number of the fax machine on which you wish to receive it on. Look in your manual for "fax forwarding". If you do not have your manual you can download it from: http://www.brother-usa.com/Manuals/Default.aspx Let me know if this solves the problem or you need additional assistance Ed
