The paper will not feed through the opening where you insert a sheet of paper that is either going to be faxed or the paper that you want to copy. You have to keep your hand on the paper and apply slight pressure to guide it through.

first thing is you have to insert new A4 sheet in to the rec/paper tray.then press the STOP key.after machine try to feed the paper in to the printer unit and you can get print.( if the machine cant feet the paper, the machine have some paper feeding problem and you have to get technical support to solve this problem)
Try cleaning all of the feed/pick up with warm soap and water. That model has a problem with one of the shafts slipping and coming unseated and getting damaged at the gear end (left side). Open the cover/panel, reach in with your thumbs and spread the black plastic pieces where the pivot/hinge is and lift the cover all the way open. You'll see the roller. The one in question is the thinner one that puts pressure on the fatter roller, and you can see to the right where the busing it rests on is. Make sure there is no play! If so, you'll have to remove it and shim out the right side so it cannot move from side to side once it's mounted. It may just be dirty seperation and need to be cleaned, so make sure you try cleaning all of the rollers with warm soapy water only.
There is most likely a piece of trapped paper where you cannot see it and it is covering a jam sensor. Try to cheat the machine by turning it off and remove all the printing paper. When you turn it on look down where you see the paper normally feeds and see if you can see any rollers turning. Then, try to take a sheet of paper and feed it through were the printing paper usually goes. Open up the cover where the cartridg goes as well and you may see the trapped paper move when you feed through your piece of paper. Remove the cartridge if necessary to get a good look and see if paper is trapped near.
Your document feed is separate from your received and report prints so that's why your reports are printing ok and the document feeder jams. When you open up the doc feeder and look inside the machine you will see a roller and above it on the cover that opens you will see a rubber pad. Clean both the roller and pad (in fact anything in there that is rubber) with a rubber cleaner, alcohol, or even soap and water on a cloth without it been dripping wet. You will probablt find that they are very dirty. The roller feeds the document in so that needs to be clean and the pad helps to keep all the other docs from feeding in at the same time and that should be very clean so it produces good friction.
You either have a paper path blockage or your feed rollers are worn. You'll need to take it apart to check though. Try removing paper, turning machine off and on and re-inserting paper. Remember to fan (separate) paper before loading, it could be static causing the sheets to stick together and jam in the machine.
first off, make sure that the paper stop at the rear of your paper in cassette is not pressed too tightly against the paper. leave about 1/8" gap. also, might be your feed roller needs cleaned, but the first scenario is fairly common.
The problem is not the sensor, itis the rollers that feed and seperate the paper.
the sensor only tells it there is paper, in the machine. then there is a tire that feeds the paper and another that stops the others from feeding at the same time. If the tire ( on some models it's a pad that looks like it has a rubber or a cork.) is old it looses it's grip and let's the paper slip by. Try cleaning with alcohol, must be replaced eventually.
You need to clean the friction pad. If you open the part where you put your sheets in to send faxes you will see a white pad behind the cover. You need to clean it, if it still feeds more than one page the pad is probably worn.
