I have a loud "whirring" noise whenever the TV is on

Folks tell me that it is probably the "light engine" - any idea where I can even get parts?

Re: I have a loud "whirring" noise whenever the TV is on

In the past the light engine had to be completely changed and Loewe offered a swap out price however Loewe have recently created a procedure for cleaning and refitting the colour wheel within the light engine. Light engine costs around $3200, swap out price around $700 plus labour.

Samsung HLS5086WX/XAA made popping noise and shut off, then made whirring noise.

When my TV did this in the past it ended up being the color wheel. I had someone replace it and it worked fine. I asked it if had to be calibrated after it is installed and he said no. Also make sure the door switch is pushed down when you install the back bulb door. Sometimes this switch can go bad as well.

My samsung 42 inch hdtv is making a buzzing noise

First. The whirring or buzzing sound you hear is the Color Wheel and it needs to be replaced. Second, since I do not know when and if the original lamp has been replaced it is a good idea to replaced the lamp. The bad Color Wheel is the one causing the set to shut down.

Loud noise now tv wont turn on

More than not if it is a loud noise shortly after you turn the set on, the color wheel is bad. The color wheel is not available by itself and requires the complete light engine to be replaced. The part number for the light engine is 75002250. I would suggest having a technician replace this for you if this is the case. Please take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks...

Color wheel. Not replacable on this set. Removing light engine and having rebuilt is only solution. Part no longer available.

There is a really loud whirring noise when it

The Color Wheel in the Optical Engine is what is most likely causing the problem. It is a very expensive part and I would call Toshiba at 1800-631-3811 and see if they could help you with the cost and also referring a Service Repair Facility to you.
I hope this helps,

Samsung DLP HL-P4663W - loud whistling noise while the TV is on

That most probably seems to be a future issue with your color wheel, it's starting to go out, you need to identify which one you have before you purchase one, there are two kinds, one with a gold bearing and another one with a silver bearing

Installed new bulb and now there is a loud whirring noise and multi colored flashing on screen

Sounds like the same problem I had, I bought a new bulb as well, installed it and nothing. I googled that same issue and endedup buying a kit here came with capacitors that had to be replace, the kit comes with aservice manual and a bag with lots of different capacitors to replaceany out on your board, they are really good at troubleshooting and theyoffer help online. If that is whats wrong with you, you will need asoldering tool, I bought my as a kit at radio shack for $20.00 and plusthe $36.00 for the kit, and a lot of patience, my TV is well andrunning now, it was better than the $600.00 estimate I got from a localrepair shop. Good luck!

Big Screen gets loud, mad and turns off

without a model number, i can't be much help. if this is a newer dlp or similar tv, the fan is probably going out. some newer tv's have a fan that is part of the light assembly, some have a separate fan.. the loud whirring noise is usually caused by bad bearings or the blades of the fan may have become unbalanced, either way, the fan making the noise will need replacing. the color going is usually caused by the lcd or dlp overheating and/or the lamp overheating.

if the tv is out of warranty, remove the back panel, locate the fan making the noise, and search for a replacement. if you have a model number, i can check around and see if i can find the part number for you.

hope this helps,

Loud whirring. Not the fan.

The fan noise is normal on this set. The lamps are cooled via this method. Your users manual explains this issue..and it is the fan as you can see it slows down after the tv is switched off..
