Question about Toshiba 43H70 43" Rear Projection Television
Remove the back containing the mirror and look into the projection lenses either at low brightness or with the tv turned off using a flashlight. Look for the fluid posibly being murky (should be clear). If this is the case, to replace the fluid: 1. Unplug the TV. 2. Remove the Picture Tube with Lens Assembly that has bad fluid 3. Find the drain plug 4. Drain the fluid in the sink. 5. Take a picture from all angles to review later. 6. Dissassemble the fluid chamber from the picture tube and clean the front glass and chamber. 7. Reassemble and fill chamber with mineral oil (laxitive found in a drug store). 8. Repeat the proceedure until all three CRT images are clear. 9. Use the centering magnets located above the CRT PCB's to get the convergence in the center. 10. Use the convergence proceedure from the tv menu to complete.

Do you think you could post the photo of the centering magnets?

I had a problem with my TV colors not lining up. One day I turned it on and the green was out of wack. I checked this message board and replaced the STK chips, bad soldering and all led to me just giving up on that and buying a whole new Convergence Board ($185). I replaced the missing silver box on the new board and I just plugged this in and though now my Green lines up okay, my red is out of whack. Is there something I am doing wrong? Can anyone help me? Did i miss a step? Frustrated......Bruce what are crt pcb's???????

There is a certain level of tolerance for misconvergence - it is extremely hard to get a set perfectly aligned. If you go into an electonics store you will often see the same thing - very slight misconvergence on small white text. You might could try getting the set re-aligned by a professional, or if its really bad you may need the convergence chips replaced, but it sounds like your set is normal.

Replace STK convergence IC's w/OEM or better parts.Senior tech soldering ability needed. Ex==Steel jumper wires feeding b+ to conv. IC's need resolder to prevent call-back.Also, best re-alignment done in service mode==consult service literature.

The convergence ICs and the six 1.8 ohm 1watt resistors need to be replaced. You can get the convergence repair kit for your model at www.tvrepairworld.com which has the Two Convergence ICs and the six resistors plus the CD with instructions on how to do the repair.

SOURCE: Blue shadows on my tv was able to adjust the
If red adjusts but blue does not adjust in some direction one of the two STK-392-110 convergence chips is bad.
Both should be replaced at the same time (about 12 dollars on EBAY) AND THE set will also have a number of small resistors in front and around them (they are usually 1.8 ohm and should read like a fuse).
Repair involves getting the chips out and replacing them. They have 18 pins each and are soldered in.
If this told you something you did not know, rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.
Comment here if you have questions or need any help.
