Hi
Try this
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

Horrible grinding noise

The problem sounds like a broken or stripped gear in the printer. If the unit is under warranty I would contact the authorized repair station for that printer in your local area.

Prints test copy everytime I turn unit on

hi,

this is because you have not completed the alignment yet

> unplug the usb cable from the printer
> turn off the printer and turn it on
> let it print the test page
> after that keep the test page facing down on the scanner glass and press the scan button on the printer
> you will see the light on the printer flashing
> wait for a minute
> then plug the usb cable back to the printer
> thats it!!!
> check whether you have the same problem

thanks and regards

I had this problem. Try unplugging any usb connection to the computer, turn off, then turn on and then try a stand alone copy. It was my USB connection to the computer which had locked up the copier.
After this it was fine.
