GE Profile Arctica Condensation forms inside Fridge PSS26PSTASS

I removed the lower shelves on my Arctica to find a block of ice that has formed over time in the refrigerator side, on the wall that separates the fridge from the freezer. The ice was very close to the light that backlights the drawers. I noticed that this is near where what appears to be the water line enters the inner wall of the fridge. I've removed the ice and left the drawers out for a few days to find that Condensation is forming on the inner wall in this area. It appears to be bad enough that the condensation will run down and form the ice that I removed.

I've noticed that my water dispenser does not dispense cold water anymore, these may be related?

It sounds like you need someone who knows what they are doing out to your house. A tech should find and repair or replace the component that leaks. A second trip should be not be needed. The fact you have mold tells me they have never properly did your repair. Mold will grow only when the cavity gets above 40 degrees for a sustained period of time. use http://www.subzero.com/locator/locator.aspx?type=0&zip=02030 or call 800-222-7820 and explain the situation and get another company to fix it right.

I had the same problem. Apparently the problem is the main control board. According to the technician that came out to fix mine there is a design flaw and these boards are very sensitive and can blow a circuit or malfunction from the slightest power surge. What happens then is that the control board doesn't "tell" the fan to turn on and off at the right time so the fridge and freezer warm up too much before the fan kicks in and then it cools everything down but since the fan isn't running at the correct intervals and circulating the air all of the cold air settles to the bottom which causes the produce in the drawers to freeze while the top shelves get warmer. I had done a fair bit of research before calling GE and came to the conclusion that this was a common problem. So I pressed them and was able to get the fee for the part waived (before I made the service call appointment) which was around $150. The part now has a 5 year waranty which I find funny, because I'm not sure why it wouldn't have that upfront as my refridgerator is only 2 years old. Whatever!! Unfortunately, unless you have indepth knowledge of refridgerator repair there is no way around the service call and labor. Anyone buying a new model of refridgerator (any company) should consider an extended waranty. The service tech also told me that all refridgerators made after 2001 are required, by law, to have an electronic mother board which in all likelyhood will fail at somepoint prior to when you are ready to buy a new fridge!

SOURCE: ge armoire style condensation on freezer door

the condensation is due to a small amount of cold freezer air getting past the gasket. Warm the entire gasket up for a few minutes with a hair dryer and then close the door and keep it closed for 30 minutes. That will reshape your gasket and solve your problem.

You are probably storing items too close to the top shelf of the freezer, stopping circulation.

GE Profile Arctica PSS26MG freezer thawed fridge not cold sounds like running rubber on fridge door hot as where it closes between freezer & fridge

The door frame has a heater in it to stop condensation and the freezer door sticking shut with ice.

As both freezer and fridge have failed, you need to call a refrigeration engineer, as it either needs more refrigerant gas or a new thermostat, or (hopefully not), a new compressor.

Where are the duel water inlet valves located on ge fridge arctic profile

unless you have a water dispenser, top mount refrigerators usually only have a single inlet water valve. Either way, the valves will be located in the back on the machine and covered by the lower portion cover, but will have a small area for the water line to hook up. Just remove the lower panel in the back and you will be able to see it

I have a GE Profile side-byside fridge. I have ice that forms on the floor every three days or so. I unplugged the water, but that is not the problem.

I would check the defrost drain for blockage. Unless this is completely clear the defrost cycle will continue to let water run inside instead of into the pan underneath. It is easiest to work on this if the freezer is completely empty and the back panel inside is removed. While it is opened up check the defrost heaters as the lower one is more apt to have failed.

Had a problem similar to this with this frig and the problem was a bad mother board that kept the fans from operating correctly to disperse the temperature. I woould actually get stalagtites forming from the warmer top shelves to the colder lower shelves. Repaire under extended warantee.

Some insect would have gone into the drain pipe and blocked the outlet for the water to flow and it gets collected inside.

First please clean the drain pipe and remove any block.

Defrost your refrigerator at least once in three days.

Excess ice formed in the freezer chamber will result in less cooling and melting of ice and make it run down.

The above remedies should solve your problem

Refridgerator is not cooling properly

Ours does this too; it says its 34 degrees but really its 53-58 degrees. . . The compressor coolant part of the machine freezes and then it can't circulate the cold air to cool the fridge. You have to unplug it for at least 24 hours to let it thaw, or you can take out the lower drawers and shelves, unscrew and remove the lower back pannel (from the inside of the fridge). We use a blow dryer to thaw out the ice block that formed on the unit. It goes faster if it is unplugged, this fridge is horrible we lost hundreds of dollars in groceries before we figured out the problem.
