How to update my satnav on my new Suzuki swift?

Most manufactures will refer you to the maker of your system (even when the lying salesman told you it would be free). There should be info in your owner's manual about the nav system. The update will cost you plenty.

Latest nav disc

Hello, be prepared to gasp. We know of factory updates costing $350 for Lincolns and accordingly cheaper for lesser Ford products. But is the Alpine a brand of stereo with Navigation or a car Model?

You can probably do an internet search under the topic "Navigation system updates" and plug in whether it is a car or stereo company.

2005 Mercury Mountaineer with DVD Entertainment System that will not read disk

The data on the DVD map disc ages at a rate of 15-20% per year. As the data ages, the functionality of the navigation system declines. Offering GM customers new navigation DVDs will ensure that the customers have the latest information for their system.

General Motors offered a Navigation Disc Update Program for alot model year vehicles. This program concluded on December 31, 2009. The DVD Navigation Update Program policy has changed and customers are no longer eligible for free annual updates, however, a navigation DVD update disc can be purchased for $199 (USD) + shipping.

If the navigation disc is needed for a warranty situation, the disc can be purchased for $120 (USD). The dealer must provide a VIN and RO# XXXXX qualify for the reduced price. The dealer must call the GM Navigation Disc Center, as this option is not available on the website.

The GM Navigation Disc Center launched on March 15, 2006. There are two ways to obtain an updated disc:
* Via the web through gmnavdisc.com
* GM Navigation Disc Center 1-877-628-3472

Technical Service Bulletins are sometimes generated to address specific navigation radio operational or performance issues. When a navigation radio bulletin is issued, it may contain instructions to utilize an advanced vehicle navigation (AVN) software update with a specific part number. GM dealers must order advanced vehicle navigation (AVN) software update discs as directed in the specific bulletin.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

I have a 2008 Touareg w/Navigation system .But the problem that i am facing ,is that i can't update the the map.I looked every where,i even contacted the manufacturer. They said we don't have a any new...

of course they have updates, you just had the bad luck with speakin with some douche on the phoneline. Go to your VW dealership, at least once a year they have new DVD with new maps etc. But it's pretty expensive, I don't know what currency is used in the country you live in, but it may be as well more than 250 USD.
And don't try to get home-burned downloaded maps on DVD-R. It won't work, the laser in the DVD tray for satnav maps can read only proper matrix made dvds (silver, not green or gold etc.).
you can also register and buy the updates here http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Navteq-NavteqEurope-Site/en_GB/-/EUR/ViewStandardCatalog-Browse?CatalogCategoryID=ZCkKCggRjH0AAAEV5OoMrLi3&ShowAllProducts=YES&PersistNavigationMenu=YES#
They will send you the proper DVD.
