Hi.. my name is Alex I have my us122 for about 5 years, but used it ones or twise becouse installation conflicts with my windowsXP.. last time I could get the sound out of it--was 2 years ago.. but...

Alex you have to get the drivers for it once you install it back into your computer. Depending on which operating system you are using I personally like XP for sound recording or playback cards. Less is best when mixing sound files no glitches you know what I mean. Now because of updates that happen all the time with any hardware you have to keep up with the updates go to the manufacturers web site and download the latest drivers always. 5 years ago was a while back in the computing world we live in and most likely or hopefully there is support for Win 7 for this card. If this is the system you are using if you have the install disc for this card reinstall it first. John

Sound Drivers for Windows 7

Maybe, It doesn't work because the driver you installed is for other versions of operating systems. I am also using windows 7 like you so don't worry, You can still use your installer/driver from other versions of operating systems. Before you installing any program in a windows 7 Operating System Computer, Use "troubleshoot compatibility". Right Click the Icon of your program installer first, then choose "troubleshoot compatiblity". This will allow you to choose on what type operating system your program will run. Just reply back if it still doesn't work.:Djulyallan01.jpg

Conexant sound driver cannot be installed

Make sure that your sound driver version is intended to run on your computer operating system or it supports your current operating system. Some drivers are limited only up to windows xp or win vista. You should get a driver that will run under your current operating system. Make sure also that the sound device on your computer bios is not disabled.

Hope this could help you a lot..:-) Thanks..

How can i get the sound back on my laptop it was ok on the old windowsXP pro,but i had to get a genuine windows advantage kit to be legal, now cd and dvd with no sound the laptop is a TOSHIBA sat pro A30...

The sound is not working because your system needs some sound driver files. This is basically some files that help your computer software communicate with the hardware.

i believe you have a toshiba sat pro A300. (DO NOT INSTALL IF YOU HAVE A300D )

Cant istall hd audio driver

H this is tech crazy

Hopefully you did not take that driver from windows update?

Never take drivers from windows update unless they are intended for
Microsoft hardware.

If an updated driver is needed because the hardware does not work proper go
to the manufacturers website to look for an updatede driver.

If it ain't broke: do not try to"FIX" it.

If you did take the optional drivers from windows update try booting last
known good configuration, rolling back on the driver or use system restore
in safe mode prior to a date of the problem or restore from the full system
backup you hopefully made.

Assuming you are using Windows XP: here you can see how to roll back on a
device driver:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...rrollback.mspx

You can disable the update appearing when automatic updates is set by going
to the windows update website and unmark (hide) driver in question.

please do rate me on the above solution

Installation stops

Jonags,

NTLDR is the NT Loader basically the instructions the bios needs to start your Operating system.
If it is not finding the NTLDR it could be due to a couple of things.

First thing I'd do is to check that the install disc is a full install disc for the OS and not an Upgrade disc.

If it IS a full OS disc then we need to enter the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) Usually done by hitting <Delete> or <F12> during boot up. Once in the BIOS there should be an option for "Boot order" we need to set it so that your optical drive (CD/DVD) is listed as the 1st entry in the boot order. press <F10> to save and exit. Put the CD/DVD in your drive and boot up your computer.

this should get you started with your installation.
If it does not, you likely have a faulty optical drive.
Please post your results so we can further assist you.

Thanks
Dave
