First use screen saver every 5mins this will protect your lcd from burn .

try with restarting computer & press F8 at the same time. u will see a menu where choose "safe mode" & start the computer. in safe mode see the display properties, set the refresh rate & resolution according to monitors specifications, apply & restart again. if that does not work, replace the main board of lcd monitor.

The monitor does not power up. no power light comes on, there is nothing that shows up on the screen. All cables are well connected and yes the power switch is on.

check by changing the power cord if this does not solve the problem the fault is in the power of the monitor better call technician or take it to the service centre

Hi

This is a problem with a high magnetic field hence you need to de-goz the screen. Or leave it un-used for some time and it will be alright by itself.

Maybe when you were shifting you have kept a speaker with big magnet around the monitor thats why this has happened.

Dont worry it will go bad to normal by itself.

One of three things wrong:

1. Cable on Monitor or Computer not plugged in. (Rarely a bad cable)
2. Wrong or corrupt driver. Go here BenQ Support Win 98 2000 and XP
3 Defective or unplugged video card.

Alright so, i've had the same monitor for the past 4 years, no problems at all (starlogic 17" LCD) and today it decides to start turning off and on, with a very distorted computer screen when it is on. now...

If you mean that it powers on and off without being connected to a computer, it could well be the power supply or the power switch. If you mean that the indicator lamp switches from amber to green without being connected to a computer, it could either be the power supply, or some of the signal-sensing circuitry.

Unless you're knowledgeable and handy, monitors are not generally considered field-serviceable or user-serviceable. The manufacturer probably won't even sell you the power supply directly - you'd have to go through a servicing company, and it will end up costing you around $100 (if not more) to repair your 4-year-old monitor.

Prices have come so far down that you might be better off just replacing the monitor. If you want an inexpensive alternative, my company sells refurbished 17" LCD monitors for $150, including free delivery in the continental US. If you'd rather take the opportunity to upgrade, we have 19 inchers for $225. Checkout MaverickSolutions.biz for more info; links to our pricing and products are on the third tab.

E-yama 17" flat screen monitor

It sounds like the internal bulb in your monitor is going out. Some LCD monitors go through a slight warm-up period but it should not be 5-10 minutes. You may want to change your Power Saving settings to prevent from going into standby. Here's how:

Right-click in an open space on your desktop
Choose Properties
Click the Screen Saver tab
Down at the bottom look for the Power settings
Change the Monitor Standby to NEVER
Click OK

Good luck!!
