It sounds like a common problem with burnt food stuck to the roof in side the oven basically the food just cooks and cooks and eventually burns through and can even set on fire, so i doubt its covered under warranty although you could just replace the roof give it a good clean and so long as the mags are ok you shouldn't have any problems... whats the make and model number it could be something more sinister but the above sounds like a best guess to me!!!!

How to remove JMC8127DD from cabinet

The wiring diagram for the microwave shows it is separate and distinct.
Usually slid-in counter top microwaves in this cubbyhole configuration have a trim piece surrounding & covering the front edges of the oven on all sides like a picture frame.
Normally you remove 4 or more screws in the trim frame, pull the frame off, then slide the oven out a little (there may be a locking tab on the cubbyhole's rails for safety) to unplug the cord, and then slide it out the rest of the way.
You can find installation instructions and other literature for this model for free download here.

Microwave when turn on making a noise and sparks comin from fan area?

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

Waveguide Cover

If the microwave is sparking or arcing the waveguide cover might be damaged and shorting out. Try removing the waveguide cover and see if the problem goes away. If there are any damaged spots in the microwave ceiling or sidewalls, repair them and paint them with microwave oven paint. Replace the waveguide cover if it is burnt or if it will not stay in place.

Microwave Oven Paint

If the microwave is sparking or arcing on the side walls the paint might have chipped causing pitting in the metal oven wall. Use microwave safe paint to touch up any bare metal spots.

Rack Support

If the microwave is sparking or arcing near one of the rack supports, remove the support, repaint any bare metal, install a new support.

Exploding chestnuts have made 3 holes in the inside top of my microwave. The holes have not penetrated to the outside. Is it safe to still use it.

What a shame. It is still safe to use but cleaning will become a problem if you don't make sure it is cleaned regularily as carbonised food particles will build up, in the dents.
Hope this helps.

I'm trying to remove a Hotpoint RVM58003. I removed four long bolts from the top but it does not move. Any help on what I need to do to remove it? Dan

The Hotpoint RVM58003 (circa 1984) cannot be lifted off a hanger after the four top screws are removed because it doesn't have a separate pre-installed hanger like newer units do. The rear mounting screw holes are part of the outer frame of the unit, which requires removal of the Microwave sub-assembly of the Hotpoint RVM58003 to expose the outer metal frame and the array of pre-drilled rear mounting holes before the rear mounting screw(s) can be accessed and removed. Based on my recent experience removing a Hotpoint RVM58003 Microwave Hood from 1984 it appears the unit was originally installed this way too. Please note that this is a very involved process. Basic steps are: 1) Unplug AC power to the unit, or turn off the circuit breaker. 2) Remove the top plastic grill over the door and control panel (2 screws). 3) Next to the grill screws remove the larger left/right screws holding the Microwave sub-assembly in. 4) Drop down the hinged light bulb/air filter cover panel (mine had 7 screws). 5) Remove the small metal cover plate on the right under the control panel. This exposes the Microwave sub-assembly electrical connector. 6) Disconnect the Microwave sub- assembly connector. 7) Carefully pull the Microwave sub-assembly out of the frame and set aside. You may need to fish the power cord through the cabinet or unscrew the power cord terminals. NOTE: this is best done with a helper because this sub-assembly is about 25-30 pounds. 8) Once the sub-assembly is out the rear plate is exposed and the rear mounting screws can be removed. I found that the GE/Hotpoint Owner's Manual does not have installation instructions. Neither does the GE web site, they only have the Owner's Manual. For more specific help and instructions I suggest calling The GE Answer Center at 800-626-2000 or hiring a professional installer experienced with this older style Microwave Hood.

We have a JE1860CB001 built-in microwave that has on several occasions sparked very brightly from the square plate on the inside right of the cavity covering the opening to the microwave tube. It has...

Quite often this is due to grease or food particles stuck to the inside of the oven or stuck on or behind the waveguide cover.

The waveguide cover is usually about the size of a playing card and often held in place by a plastic rivet.

It can be fragile, and the metal edges of the oven behind it can be sharp, so be careful!

The cover and the metal behind it should be cleaned with a mild, non-ammonia cleaner.

If the cavity metal of the oven is chipped or charred, it will have to be sanded smooth and clean and dried thoroughly.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

If your waveguide cover is burned, it will need to be replaced. It provides important protection for the magnetron.

Replacing GE microwave door handle

1. order at http://www.a-1catalog.com/gemidohaw.html

2. Open the door to the microwave. The top screw is obvious. Take it out.

3) Use a flathead screwdriver or putty knife to remove the inner moulding. THis is the central thing you'll see -- the outside is the frame of the door and the inside is the frame of the screen/window. The MIDDLE thing is the one you want. It's is clipped onto the screen/window frame, so put the screwdriver in on the edge closer to the door frame and gently lever it out. There are a lot of clips. BE CAREFUL -- if you are unsure, take to an appliance repair shop that can properly test for leakage!!!

4. The lower screw will then be evident. Take it out and the handle... or shards of it in my case... comes off.

Worried mother

MOM! When you say" Front Panel Door Seperates". Do you mean the front PLASTIC escuteon, or door cover? There is no seal as such like a gasket. The metal shield,or screen that you look through into your microwave is the seal. A microwave,( if it could be seen) is about the diameter of a pencil. It is neither gas, or liquid thus it cannot squeeze through openings smaller than it's diameter. So! the small openings or holes (That you look through) in the front screen of your microwave door are seen as solid metal by a microwave and the microwave is reflected back into the cavity. The only safety issue is damage to the screen.
