Re install your OS as there is no way in.HOW

You need to create a bootable usb drive. depending on what Operating System you want to install, you can easily find how to do that by googling "How to create a bootable usb drive for <your os>"

your OS could be windows xp, windows 7, windows 8, ubuntu, linux mint, manjaro, or any other OS you use for that matter.

You will find several ways to do it and not all of them will work for you. You may have to try about 4 or 5 different ways to do it before you strike one that works for you.

Hi, I haven't got a Dell but try this site for the USB driver that is missing. With XP there is no support for USB2, an updated driver is required. Did you download the drivers from Dell? If not, that could be why as they may be old drivers.

I have an old IBM t60 Thinkpad I am trying to (clean) install XP home edition. The OS is installed but I have no internet connection. I am missing drivers for Network controller, PCI device, SM Bus...

You can try to use an Ubuntu 10.10 CD, and when you are done with the install you will have access to the web without needing any drivers.
Then go to the web and download your XP drivers if you still need to.
Would recommend you use Ubuntu as it is much better OS than XP and runs great on T60 very solid.

How can i reformat my asus eee pc1000h if it doesnt have a cd drive?

You can reformat your Asus eePC 100h notebook using an Ubuntu Live USB.Here is how to make one: 1. Download an Ubuntu ISO Disk image from www.ubuntu.com or a debian ISO image file from www.debian.com. 2. You can also use an existing Live CD to create an ISO Disk image with if you have a working PC around. Many free tools exist for creating disk images.I suggest Ashampoo Burning studio or CDBurnerXP.Search for them on google. 3.Get your hands on a working PC that has Windows XP/Vista/7 installed on it. 4. Download the UnetBootIn utility from http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/unetbootin-windows-latest.exe. 5.The procedure for creating the Disk Image is as follows: (a)Requirements: 1 GB or larger USB drive, formatted as FAT32(most USB drives come formatted as FAT32 by default, but if you need to format it, on Windows, go to My Computer->right click your USB drive->format.
On Windows XP, you must be logged on as an administrator; on Windows Vista and above, you will be prompted for permissions via UAC.
On Windows, the UnetBootIN software looks like this:
brainiarc7.png
Follow the guided prompts on the software to make your Live USB drive, and be careful to select the corrrect linux distribution on the window.
When done, safely remove the flashdrive from the PC and plug it in your Asus eeePC 100h notebook.
Boot up your notebook and press the F2 Key as the system starts up and select the USB flash drive as the first boot device(You can also do the same from the BIOS setup).
When you boot up with the Ubuntu Live USB, select "Try Ubuntu without installing" option to run the Live OS on RAM.
When the system boots up completely, go to System>Administration>Gparted and the Gparted Disk utilitty will run.
From the Gparted menu, select the appropriate partition you want to format or modify.
You can read more on Gparted here.
When you are done partitioning and formating your HDD as you desire, you can also install Windows XP/Vista/7 from a FlashDrive by following the instructions below:

1.Get your hands on a working PC with Windows XP/Vista/7 installed.
2.Download the WinToFlash utility from http://wintoflash.com/download/en/
3.Install the application on the PC.
4.Once you are done, insert a Windows XP CD in the PC's optical disk drive and follow the installation instructions from WinToFlash.
By default, the installation path for Windows XP files on the drive is DRIVE LETTER:/Windows/system32.
See the screenshot below for more details:

brainiarc7_0.png

You can use the created bootable USB to install Windows XP on your notebook.
For more on WinToFlash, see this link:http://komku.blogspot.com/2009/09/wintoflash-guide-install-windows-xp.html

Have a great time ahead.

None of my usb ports are working correctly. Whenever I plug a device in I get an error that reads usb device not recognized. My current operating system is Windows Vista Black. This is an upgrade from...

If it's a software "driver" issue...
Disconnect all USB devices.
Find your way to the "Device Manager" and uninstall all USB Controllers and Hubs.
Before you close the Device Manager the system may begin re-installing the drivers automatically.
Even so...
Do a restart and this will force the system to load a clean copy of the drivers from the root Cab files.
Reconnect one USB device at a time amd wait for the system to recognize it and install the proper drivers.
If this doesn't work it's likely a hardware problem

Acer 4736 compatibility with eb-s6 projector in usb display mode.

Check the Microsoft knowledge base for a "workaround" for this issue.
Try doing a search for "device not recognized" there should be several steps to correct this issue. However this may be due to compatibility with your projector and the usb port drivers. Contact the manufacturer or go to his website for driver and usb information on your Projector ability to connect to your Acer. Good luck!

"USB Device Not Recognized" - any usb device

1-Make sure you are using XP SP2. You probably are but just in case....

2-Unplug all USB devices

3-Uninstall any software for the devices you just unplugged

4-Reboot into safe mode and open the device manager. Make sure to choose the show hidden devices option

Note: Follow the order of removal exactly and this MUST be done in safe mode only!

5-Remove any entries for USB peripherals like scanners and printers

6-Remove any entries for HID devices or Combp USB devices

7-Remove all USB root hub entries

8-Remove all USB host controller entries

9-Reboot to normal mode, let Windows reset the USB stack and try your thumb drive.

If this didn't work then repeat steps 1-8.
Staying in safe mode, right click in the device manager and scan for hardware changes. Let Windows reset the USB stack and try your thumb drive again.

Also when doing any of this try and get a hold of another thumb drive and try it instead of yours. Your thumb drive could be the source of the trouble. We had similar issues we tracked down to a bad batch of Memorex thumb drives.
