Hi, My printer had a paper Jam and I am pretty sure some paper got stuck however i cant find any when lifting the top up.It now wont work and the alarm light is flashing ThanksJemma

Hi,

Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred. Step2 Turn off the printer. Step3 Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper. Step4 Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge. Step5 If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it. Step6 266_a1.jpg If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam. Step7 266_a2.jpg If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper . Don't force anything, though. Step8 Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on. Step9 If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.

If you still face the problem let me know..

Goodluck..

Blicking light canon d480

try this
Turn off the printer.
Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

A paper got stuck while printing i tried 2 pull it out, but it got teared.. nw it shows warnings.. jst jammed.. dono wat 2 do??

Hello! Welcome to FixYa

Paper jam
means their may be small bit paper jam in side

There are some "micro-sensors" that detect a paper jam. There will be tiny piece of paper, or a lump of dust, inside those sensors, thus "tripping" the sensor and saying you paper jam.

To solve it
Open printer cover and check to make sure no paper or foreign objects obstructing the printer feeder

If you become sure that now really there is no paper, dust or foreign objects then
Turn the printer off, and disconnect the AC power-cable. Open the printer cover & now give the printer a "blow-job" by compressed air.
If still problem exist then best & final option is to just contact to any Canon Printers service provider.

If you have any Confusion, questions or issues regarding your problem do tell me.
Thank you for using FixYa!

ESP5200printer,new,paper jam message

Hi slicknick58,

Paper jam message occurs when there are stuck papers inside the printer. There are several ways on how to correct this problem, either you remove the visible stuck paper manually or replace the toner or ink cartridge. Below are the steps you'll want to follow when this problem still occurs.

1. Turn off the printer. Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam.

2. Inspect the location or tray the printed paper ejects to. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.

3. Open the printer door that allows you access to the printer ink cartridges or toner and look for any stuck paper. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it.

4. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.

5. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.

6. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper . Don't force anything.

7. Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.

8. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path and try repeating the above steps again.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

My cannon IP1900 printer cannot print, it says paper jam, orange light blinks. I need assistance

Dear Sir,

i am giving u step to solve your problem,

Step 1 Turn your printer off and on to see if it can take out some or all of the jam automatically. If not, turn off the printer and go to the next step.
Step 2 Inspect where the printed paper stops. If the stuck paper is visible and on its way out of the device, try to manually remove it. If you can not pull the rest out easily, then refer to the next steps.
Step 3 Remove any paper trays. Check if any wrinkled or damaged paper is still stuck in the printer. If so, remove any other appliances you can (toner or ink cartridge if necessary) and look for the paper shreds. Make sure nothing has been left in this device.
Step 4 Tidy your blank papers, turn the printer back on and try it again. If the paper jam massage still appears, repeat the above steps. If no paper stuck in your device but the error still persists, well then it’s likely your printer is experiencing another hardware issue: maybe the rollers or some other part need to be adjusted or replaced. Check the printer manual and the manufacturer’s website for directions, or contact your support line for additional assistance.
Things you should take care when manually removing paper
l You should be careful, especially for a laser printer – laser printers can get hot.
l Do not remove your jammed paper from where the blank paper enters the printer, or your device might be damaged easily.
l If you find a piece of jammed paper, pull it out with both your hands carefully so as to keep the paper from tearing. If several sheets of paper jammed together, try to loose the jam by pulling out the middle one first.
l If the paper does tear, you may need to manually rotate the gears that feed the paper through the printer to free the shreds. Don’t force anything.

While printing, it stopped and orange (error) light went on. Coolers work, it has toner and paper, no paper stuck, everything looks normal. I restart power , but it is the same. printer model Lexmark...

You may still be able to do a printer selftest page.

Press the large button on the printer.

Look at the pages for

Toner
Imaging unit

The Imaging unit may be at end of life.

This is the drum unit and collects the waste toner.
Whilst you can just reset the drum counter (see user guide for this E120, it can lead to problems if you don;t replace the drum unit. I've seen E120 drum units packed full of waste toner, to the stage where they won't take any more, and it just spews all over the mechanism. It's a very small waste collector (but its also a very small printer, and relatively low capacity toner cartridges (1k, or 2k).

Remanufactured drum units for E120 can be found on the usual internet auction sites.
