    Same problem here !!
    My printer shows "sensor error, turn off then on", almost immediately after "initializing".
    I took a new printer, and checked on the old printer the two boards on the back, no result, then changed step by step the fusing unit, and the power supply - the same problem... The same think also without toners.
    So i tried to put the old things on the new printer engine... - the new printer now says "sensor error, turn off then on".
    I have returned everything on back, on the right place...
    Now i have two printers with the same error, "sensor error, turn off then on" !!!!

    This problem plagued me for quit some time-finally when I replaced the DC power supply on top(RM1-1976-000), that solved the issue.

SOURCE: HP color LaserJet 2600n stucked on Initialzing

Well we can check and see if the printer is able to run an engine test. This is how you can run this test;

  1. Turn the printer around so the back of the machine is facing you.
  2. Remove the Engine etest button acess door. This is located in the bottom center of the back.
  3. Push the botton once while the printer is on. The printer should print a page with colored horizontal lines.
If the printer is able to print this page there is a very good indication the problem revolves around the PCA formatter board.
The Firmware might be outdated and causing this problem. Worst case scenario the board might be faulty, in that case your better off buying a new machine, since the cost to replace the board will be higher than that to replace this machine.

If a surge protector is being used, remove
it. Plug the device directly into the wall

Sensor error on hp 2600 printer please

Try to clear all paper dust from the photoelectric sensors inside the printer. User compresses air, if you can find a can of it. but use it gently. You ust want to clear the dust fromthe sensors, so that they can "see" again.

10.00 error is for the black cartridge. Check the cartridge locker for the black toner cartridge on the right side, is it different from the other? does it moves correctly? check properly. If the locker seems correct, try clean the contacts on toner and opposite HV pins in printer
