My 96 Ford Probe drives fine until it gets hot then the car wont move. Ive checked the fluid and even checked the catalytic converter and both are fine. It doesnt make any noise when it stops working just wont move. Any ideas?
Have you checked your radiator and coolant pipes i had same problem rad was hot at bottom and cold at top hence coolant pipes where getting to hot
You might need a tranny flush but it could be a major internal problem with the trans.
You are probably having ATF bubbles flowing through your tranny either from overfill or by using cheap ATF / the wrong atf. Consider a drain and refill 3 times (driving for 5 minutes in between a drain and refill. This time only use dealship ATF and I guarantee you the problem will go away.
