i already have, and they tould me it´s most probably something in my computer that is blocking the signal; if i connect with the ethernet cable it works normal and i have no problem. do you know anything besides firewall and cookies that can actually block the signal?

i get connected to the router but i have no internet thru the router. i only have interner with the cable. i hope i'm being clear, my english is not the best!!!
my computer detects the router with a good signal and i can get connected to it, but when i open internet it's simply not availlable.

sorry, i don't really know anything about routers, so i don't know what you are asking me; i don't know if the router is connecting to DNS servers. the only thing i know is that inside the customized configuration i have notice that in the Primary DNS Server and Secondary DNS it only says (both); is that normal? i've used a the setup wizard since the first time and it worked for a while, and that's what i'm doing now too, but it doesn't work.

Try to run a search by going to Start>Search and search for 'Hotfix' hotfix was a gateway update that had some not-so-great side effects and by running a search and tracking down the file(s) and deleting them should give you full or at least partial internet access. This may work for all routers, but it has 30% success rate. Good luck, and find some other forums to see deeper into the hotfix situation.

Junk Router - Buy Linksys

My blitzz bwa611 did the same thing, one day after 2 years working perfectly, it started blocking my access to the internet. all the proper lights on the dsl modem and on the router are lit just like when it was working, and my firewall lists number of packets sent and recieved, but i cannot get any webpager to show on the screen. its as if the computer is working on the internet at someone elses bequest, and i have no access or control. i wiped my harddrive clean wrote zeros to it reinstalled everything, but no help. i just cannot break through to the internet through this router, though i can install an internet connection on the computer itself without the router in the system and regain access to the internet. i had this same problem, when i first bought the router, and it continued til my computer savy son visited and installed it for me, completely disregarding all the nonworking instructions and relieing on his own knowledge, and had it working in ten minutes, after i'd tried for months to make it work using the instructions supplied with the router. unfortunately he is a thousand miles away and no visits planned soon. i can build computers and built my presemnt one but have no idea how to correct this, but it seems to me eddye is having the same problem. i know the dns address eddye is getting is wrong the correct default dns address should be in his installation paperwork, and possibly on the modem itself. i cannot remember the default number, but surely someone hwo reads this will, its 1.168. something i believe.

Can you type your routers address in your internet browser (refer to your manual eg and check to see if your router is connecting to your ISP servers (Primary DNS Server and Secondary DNS Servers), it will display noughts if not; various numbers starting with no. 8.

Sorry ignore last post youve already said it's ok with a cable, are you saying you can't connect to the internet wirelessly or even get into the router, but you can get on internet and in router with a network cable?

If you have all noughts in the I.P and DNS address it is not connected to the isp's server, if you have the settings use the wizard and put them in manually.

I would suggest you contact your ISP and make sure that there is not a problem on that end.

RG54G3 won't connect wirelessly or through ethernet.

Well this could be a number of problems but the most popular cause of this problem is out-of-date firmware.

If you visit the manufacturers website and download the firmware it should solve the problem but can't be sure.

The instructions of how to get the firmware update onto the router should be on the website, if not, type your routers IP address into the internet browser e.g. internet explorer, log-in and it should be pretty straight forward from there.

Wireless conncection

depending on who your ISP is, you need an ethernet cable coming from the modem into the WAN/Internet port on back of router. Once that is in you can try to connect wirelessly using the settings your router is setup for :

SSID/network name
encryption type
encryption key/passkey/passphrase
-- this part is dependent on above setting
wireless channel

Msi rg54g3 wireless router

Cable modem or DSL? If cable modem without phone service, modem power has to be unplugged 2 minutes before the router is connected in order to release the mac address from memory. If cable modem with phone service, same thing applies, but battery backup must also be disconnected.
DSL modem may require PPPoE setup into router.

Help me please

Two separate solutions are needed.

First, you will need to ask your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to assign a "fixed IP address" to your Internet connection. Your ISP typically assigns addresses to home users out of a large "pool" of addresses that are shared among several customers. Because of this, your home network address is not always the same. Most ISP's charge an extra fee to always keep your address the same.

The second task is to configure the firewall function in your router so it will pass connections through from the WAN to the device inside your network. The procedure to do this should be included in the instruction manual for your router.

i hink this issue has been resolved by you by now. if it perists do lemme know about it. it seems yor router is not configured properly regarding the authentication like user name n password. n i think the MAC address spoofing is also into the picture , mostly MAC add spoofing is done on cable connections but sometimes it can be also used with the "user id n password" together. For any other issue- chat with me on msn or yahoo messenger my id is samrat101 on both the messngers samrat
