D-link doesn't support the dwl-g510 card any longer, but i found an update at this link ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Wireless/dwlg510_revB/Drivers/dwlG510_revB_drivers_S0031.zip
I installed and my card still didn-t work. Then I annullated my update - You do this in the Networkconnestion - Properties for D-link AirPlus G CWL-G510 - under the Driver tab you'll find the annullate update button.
Know after going back to the driverversion 1.0.0.0, and with windows xp controlling the connection, every works perfect.
Don't ask why!

Where can i download a config utility for my D-LINK AIRPLUS DWL-G510 ADAPTER

Here is the site for the driver.
http://www.dlink.com/products/?tab=3&pid=DWL-G510&rev=DWL-G510

Dlink does not have a configuration utility for this device, so it may be that there was not one offered. Instead you can use the zero configuration utility with Windows XP.

It also states that this device has been discontinued; the driver is the 1st release driver and has not been updated.

select the DWL-G510 driver to download it, or if you have the h/w rev.2 click the FAQ and select the option for a missing "wlanapi.dll" file. There is an updated driver for this revision on the link to that FAQ resolution. For ease of use it is here:

Good luck and I hope this helps.

Ah...found it!

I think that with XP service pack 3, it caused a problem with the wireless card driver.

I just installed the latest driver, and it connected for me without a problem. Here's a link to the driver:

You may want to check your power supply and make sure that it meets the requirements for your system, a lack of sufficient power can ofter cause a computer to restart or freeze.

Your card uses 15 dBm ± 2dB

If this is a laptop, make sure to plug in the machine as power is limited while your laptop is unplugged.

If you've done all the math and the power supply isn't the problem, you may wish to try your card in another pc. If the card doesn't take in either machine, you should contact d-link and ask for a replacement.

Is there any driver for linux for this product-DWL-G510 Wireless G Desktop Adapter......?if so do i get its source code?

A quick Google search suggests that there are at least three different versions of the DWL-G510 and that Rev B might work with the madwifi drivers. Otherwise, you may want to consider using ndiswrapper with the Windows drivers. I've had good luck with ndiswrapper.
