Question about Canon CanoScan LiDE 500F Flatbed Scanner

Could not complete the import command because there is no scanner installed? pleas help

Hi there
Basically my scanner one day decided not to work when i try and import in photo shop it comes up with
Calibration Can not be performed pull out the film adapter unit at frame 1
then
( which isnt even in use?)

I have reinstalled soft wear, gone to the canon website downloaded new soft wear still no luck
when the scanner is attached it dose come on and just makes a noise as if it is about to scan but constant untill i pull out the usb.
please please help
ive tried to use the scanner through the canon tool box and it dosnt work
I'm on Mac OS X Leopard
Same here.  OSX.5.5.  CanoScan 500F. Black Bar down the image. Then downloaded and installed new drivers. Now I get "Calibration cannot be performed. Pull out the film etc..." and no film.  Hooked the scanner to older G4 laptop and it works, but still has black stripe from top to bottom.  What next?

Have you properly connects the Scanner to your MAC PC.

You can get the Help from official Website just enter the Keywords under Support & Services Search Box: "Calibration cannot be performed"

with this you will get list of Errors and read them and hope it will help you.

    If the info given in Official website of Canon comes not much useful for you , then you will need to go for
    repairing your Scanner manually. As the problem is related to hardware.

Hi,

1.Uninstall the scanner program
2. restart your desk top
3. reinstall the driver (the orignal driver if availabe)
4. then try scan again.

This is a hardware failure at the board level within the scanner. The calibration issue reflects the readers inability to compose the columns in the middle that return as a black stripe. If they were functioning but had a software issue the bar would be white.

Sorry. This scanner is toast.

Hi Phillip:
DTC P0751 - 1-2 Shift Valve Performance code. You could possibly have a valve stuck in the valve body or an internal problem.

Try this...
1. Clear the code and then monitor scanner data for shift solenoids and verify the command for all 4 gears takes place.
2. If command is OK, then remove the pan and the two solenoids and air check the solenoids while turning them off and on to make sure they are hydraulically functioning.
3. If the solenoids are OK then there is an internal failure inside the transmission.

I have a Microtek 9800XL scanner. I use Photoshop to scan items into my computer. Lately if I use a custom setting and try to scan an image over 300 dpi, I get the following error message (in Photoshop)...


your scanner can not scan above 300. you can try windows scanning, but i wouldn't recommend. New scanners are still a little pricey but are worth it.

1. Connect your e-studio to computer (usb cable)
2. Install software (twain driver)
3. You can get scans width:
- Photoshop (File/Import/ .....)
- Acrobat (File/New Pdf/From Scanner)
- Own Toshiba software

Sorry to say but it's gone, I spoke to Panasonic but no help, basically if its gone its gone, I gave up using mine, I use my iPhone now instead. I lost important stuff too

I don't think it's any of those things. I think it's a Twain Data Source problem. When you install the software for your scanner, make sure you also install the twain data source files. This is the scanning protocol used by all scanners and if not present, the scanner won't import images into Photoshop under the command "File" -> "Acquire."

I WANT TO USE THE SCANNER BUT, I DON'T NOW HOW, It go to the printer all the time, could you please help me ? I have the EPSOM STYLUS BX300F PROFESSIONAL, PRINTER,SCANNER,FAX,PHOTOCOPIER.


Basically, you can use the scanner in two ways. Please open the scanner cover and place the document or image you want to scan face down.

1. Press the SCAN button (color button = color scanning, black button = monochrome scanning). then your scanner will scan the document or image in the scanner tray.

2. Go to the scanner program installed in your computer when you installed the printer. Open it and then click the command button SCAN.

Note: Make sure that you installed the Scanner software when you installed the printer. Without the software, your scanner will not work. Please reinstall the printer including the scanner software.
