Question about Panasonic PT-52LCX66 Projection Television

PT-52LCX66-K picture is darker than normal...

The picture on my tv is darker than ussual and cant figure out why. I cleaned the inside and the bulb and the mirror and screen. The weird thing is if the TV is off for acouple of days, when you turn it on its back to normal operating like it was bran spankin new but only lasts for a couple hours if that, so dont know what to do...

    Dark and getting darker, even after warranty replaced the bulb.
    Can't enjoy unless the images are of the desert!

    The dadgummed lamp was a warranty replacement in April 2008.

    It's now March of '09, you mean to tell me these things only last 11 months?

Sounds like you need to replace your lamp. The lamp number for this panasonic TV is TY-LA1001. Lamps run anywhere from $120-$250.

I am changing bulb # TY-LA1001-K on a panasonic dlp tv mod.# PT-52LCX66-K . bulb is easy to change but lens in housing is burnt . can it be removed from housing & cleaned with anything ?.


Very carefully remove the lens, ensuring you put it back in exactly the same place and way around!
Clean it with isopropol alcohol and a tooth brush, let it soak if needed.
BE CAREFUL!!!
Re fit it as that forms part of the heat shield.

Can you replace a lamp for PT-52LCX66 if you don't have the original remote?


Yes,the lamp it to produce the tv picture.The remote only deal within the picture.

Changed bulb on panasonic PT-52LCX66-k and cant reset timer.
