Question about Other Network Devices
I have one terminal that's set up and I want to downline all it's data to another identical terminal that was used at a different restaurant. Do I need to use a router just to connect one terminal to the other? They don't ''see'' each other on the network at all.
If you only want the data and the program, you can download them on to a CD. so, every week you have to do that and transport them back and forth.
if you want to download the data with push of a button, then you need to speak to your cable or telephone company, they should able to set you for modem that is capable of create a Wide Area Network. (dependent on how much you want to spend.)
the is a choice of use the existing phone line, buy 2 modem connect them one one each end and connect the computer to that. the drawback is, if there is a call coming during the transmission, you will lost it all, if not corrupts the files, that will bring donw the machine and your business.
the last but not realay the last, is to get a web hosting site, if your 2 restaurant have internet access.
that will be the easiest and safest way to go.
the choice is yours.
if you have other questions or request, please post them in this thread, so we can followup.
