Check it on different usb port, or in other system ,if the problem persists its the problem of device

keep the flash drive in hand. try to install xp. while install it was asking for bios update and ask for press f8 for bios update and insert pen drive and select the path it will automatically update the bios and start installing

I have a HP pavilion a1700n and the dvd quit working. I bought a hp dvd/cd writer 1270i. This unit has SATA connection. I noticed that my a1700n has an unused SATA connector and there are three unused...


A SATA hard drive needs to be pugged into a SATA port on the motherboard. They're the "L" shaped ports. They look like this: moondogwst75_2.jpg
The little blue ports. The hard drive should have come with the appropriate cable. Other than that, just plug in a SATA power connector to your hard drive and you should be golden. Hope this helps!

Where does the P8 4 pin video connector connect to?


That I think is SVHS OUT to a TV. Can also be composite Video as well. With an appropriate cable and software you can connect up a TV as a second screen

Does any body know of a guide detailing how to repair a cracked screen in an HP Pavilion TX2000? The screen itself is okay, but the outside plastic-type layer is cracked.


try this:

use gorilla glue and make sure you clamp pieces in place near crack after it dries scrap off expanded glue with your fingernail...

or try super glue but pen wipe off excess glue quickly and clamp near crack

I have a hp pavilion a405.uk and want to upgrade the memory module. Hp say the max is 1GB yet on other sites ie, Kingtons say the max is 2gb. I believe it all depends on the motherboard.. the type is...

Hmm. Well, that doesn't make sense, as your monitor should power on even if isn't hooked to the tower. I'm out of ideas.

Have you plugged both of these into the back of the tower? Ensure the keyboard is in the appropriate plug-in, and the monitor's power cord is plugged into both the wall and the monitor itself.
