I have the same problem, the whole screen is smaller than the monitor, it's not about full screen-ing a movie or something like that.

The title is compacted and cannot see what it says.  Your laptop will not go fullscreen when watching what?

What happens when you try to go fullscreen?   What program are you using, and what method are you using to make it full screen?

Battery with HP Pavillion DV5000 won't work. Do I need to replace the battery or is there a battery charger I could use to recharge the battery? Dianne

You can order a power cable online or pick one up at your local computer store. They should run between $80-150. The battery itself is very expensive to purchase but is rechargeable.

No FullScreen

Either update your flash or re-install the video driver for your laptop. Go to google and lookup Acer Support. Then put the model number in and they should provide drivers.

Full screen

What games do you play?
In some internet games you can press F11 for full screen.
Though in most games you have to go through their menu's to get full screen.
In windows the default keystroke for fullscreen in Alt, Enter pressed together.
Though that is not a guarantee either.
Generally how to get full-screen is different from game to game in some sort of settings menu.
For instance I play Last Chaos online and it is automatically full-screen.
When I played runescape online I had to select full-screen at the log in screen.
