It seems the new, larger tvs these days put out too much light and it interferres with the remote signal. Simply put a post-it note or tape a piece of paper over the lights on the receiver and you have an affordable and instant fix. This isn't a good looking fix and I would be upset if the set were in a living room. Luckily ours is in the family room downstairs.

I got my bose remote to work when I did a system update on the remote. Turn the TV on. Select the TV video input that connects the system. On the control console, press and hold setup until the system information screen displays. line 5 will display the currently installed console software version. on the remote press any button. Line 10 will display the currently installed remote software version. Do a bose system update. On the control console press setup. on the remote control, press the down arrow until update is highlighted and press ok. make sure yes is highlighed and press ok. on the control console plug a clean usb drive into the usb port.when prompted, remove the usb drive and connect it to a computer. open the drive and double click on the download_launcher file, which should bring you to an update page on bose.com. Once complete, put it back in the control console. When the update is complete remove the usb.
