Question about HP Pavilion dv9000z Notebook

HP Pavillion dv9000t

Imagine the matrix except with just vertical dashes. That's what my screen looks like.

- it shows in the HP on boot up
- it is identical on an external monitor
- windows won't start up except in safe mode
- when I try to start regularly, I get a screen dump stating, ''Attempt to reset display driver...''
- this is an hp pavillion dv9000t with an nvideo go 7600 w/512k memory.

What do you think?

    I have a HP Pavilliondv9000 and have a similar problem. First had a pink blury screen and the computer completly stoped responding. I am currently running in safe mode. I have a permenant pink screen. Pink vertical lines all across the screen.

    I have done a system clean up but no joy. I can sometimes start normally (not in safe mode) but after 15-20 mins the system crashes, goes pink and blurry and I can not do anything (can only turn cpu off)

    This seems to be common - caused by overheating and the video card ram melting. if it intermittenly works get all your files off as fast as you can. To fix I think you either need to contact hp for repair - warranty or not, or buy one of these|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318.

    My screen started showing blue vertical lines across the screen, then I would reboot. I would get a different result each time. Sometimes the computer would work only in safe mode, sometimes it would start system restore, sometimes startup repair. Then it would work perfect for days. I sent my laptop to hp since I have the extended warranty on hardware. They told me I would have to pay $750 to repair beacuse it had gotten wet. I have never spilled anything on it! I told them to send back, I recieved it yesterday. The keyboard is sticking halfway up, half of the rubber screw covers are missing, there is a crack on the left side by one of the ports, and when I turn it on it says operating system not found. After spending an hour talking to three different people on the phone, now I am supposed to wait for a supervisor to call within 24 hours. Its been about 20 hours with no call yet. I am so upset I spent 1300 one year ago for this computer.

    Pretty much the same symptoms error message; windows has recovered from ete etc etc display drivers corruptedetc etc etc .
    I tried re-installing the drivers from HP and from Nviddia, same problem after a few days /hours.
    Looking at the forums it seems that HP and Nvidd have known about this problems with heat management on the GO7600 gpu since 07 (according to Wall street journal), forced recently (reluctantly) to extend warranty.

    Contact HP and dont take any sxxt from them ,( worth remembering that call centre staff weren't the people who screwed you over) I spent £30(GB) on calling HP , but only found out about the "recall" of an independent forum ( Ok ,maybe the call centre staff did screw me over)

    As usual it's the suits who tried to evade responsibility, pity really 'cos I always bought HP in the past. Doubt I will again

My opinion is that the video card is crunked. Just put this opinion in a hat, then get the rest of the opinions and then draw from the hat.

The recovery disk is defective so the install is bad. Install using another disk (even a generic retail one of the same type will do) and your key.

Screen has no image except it looks like madras

Try to plug in this monitor to another pc. If it still does not show an image you may have to replace the monitor.

Have an hp pavillion a6319fh boots to blue screen and curser

Could be alot of things, Scratched , even a small pinprick on the CD, or you have some bad ram, or your Hard drive is going. Thats the thing about troubleshooting a PC.

My HP Pavillion laptop turns on but the screen doesn't show.

You could be expierencing a problem with your monitor screen. try this.... connect another monitor screen to the VGA port of your laptop. Now try booting up. Look for and push Fn + the key that turns on a secondary display. if the monitor screen comes on. you need
another laptop monitor. At least you can use your laptop with the second monitor for now.

Pavillion laptop is not booting.

Try to boot the notebook with F8 Key. (Safe Mode)

Also try to go into the BIOS setting and change there --> Power and Boot Priority.

For BIOS try: ESC, DEL or F2 keys.

Will it boot from a CD/DVD? Make sure the boot sequence is set to boot CD first and then see if it will boot into setup from a CD/DVD. If it will, then maybe try reinstalling windows. Hope this helps.
