Re: DRC 8295N

Many DVD players have been going out lately. I suggest shaking it just a little to make sure of any lose parts if not then it might be the CPU inside the player is going bad or is fried. also try to open the thing,if you have been closing it with your hand that might caused a malfunction in the system. The operating lifts in the player go out real bad if opened with the hand. If it keeps on failing on you, buy a player with eject on the remote or that is a good brand like toshiba and sony. I hope I solved your problem. Good Luck

Rca drc 8320n lock on pls wait no front butons recognize

I have the same problem too. And it swallowed my tape. I disassemble, took the tape assembly out and get my tape by putting 9 V to the motor ( the small dc motor ) so I can get my tape.

I did plug in the unit without the tape assembly, still say "Please Wait"...Therefore it is maybe the microcontroler not following the program and may possible need to be reset, with the power on.

So I will need the chip location, the pin out of the microcontroller, and solder a push button at the reset pin of the MCU and see what happen.

RCA DRC-285 DVD Player won't respond

hi, 2 things usually cause this kind of behaviour 1-the dvd+r have been burnt at a high speed 2-the dvd player itself is a bit old when you burn your dvd+R always burn them at a lower speed lowest if possible it'll take longer but it's well worth it and you wouldn't have a problem playing them back

The DVD part of the machine keeps skipping and now just won't play any DVD's.

I push the VHS Cartridge in, it drops down to the play position, the front door opens, the tape comes out, it goes around the chrome wheel that is spinning, but it will not play, will not rewind, will not fast forward. It then shows "Error" and the machine shuts off, with the tape still around the chrome wheel, When I turn the machine back on, the VHS Cartridge ejects from the machine. This machine has been used very little, I loaned it to my Son In Law and it came back with the VHS Tape Deck not playing. I have the machine open, so I can see what it is doing.

I have a refurbished DRC 8335. When I play my VHS tapes I get static, the tape jumps, and fast forwards. How do i fix it.

VCR's have actually become cheaper to replace than to repair now.The place I used to work at will not even repair them anymore.

RCA DRC 8310 - not copying from VHS to DVD. When I am playing the VHS tape I press the COPY button, it says that is copying for about 10 seconds and then stops and locks up,. If I press the RECORD...

stay with the 8x dvd (these recorders look and only work with certain types of dvds)...if your manual says maxell stay with it dont look for the brandless sale...use 8x unless your have updated your machine with new firmware from the mfr. for that 16x...are you trying to record HBO / DISNEY? its not going to be allowed on DVD...yes you can record both onto tape...but not digital..(I put all my movies onto dvd, my kids still have tape DISNEY)

hope this help

RCA 8295n dvd-vcr combo starts recording from VHS tape to disk and then stops.

Is the VHS tape a store bought movie or show?

MacroVision and other copy protection systems are put into store bought tapes and discs of movies and shows, and are read by your recording equipment. Once it reads this, it stops recording.

Does the screen turn red before it stops? This is one of the indications that MacroVision is stopping you.

For anyone who has an RCA DRC 8335 with dvd Recorder, here is a suggestion.
If your tapes have been recorded in SLP Mode, om another player, I can tell you they will NOT play on this thing!!
So, merely take another VCR, and a blank tape, Place the blank tape into the RCA DRC 8335 VCR side, and then, go to its Set-Up Menu, and go to OUTPUT. On the "ACTION BAR"Change the the RCA's output to "FRONT" and then, play the VCRr you stuck on top of the RCA!!
When the inage on the "Source tape is shown,
Record onto the RCA, in SLP Mode, Now, it will play, just fine.
Hope this helps. Jon (Found BY Accident!!)

Connect DVD recorder to Video player/recorder- transfer VHStodisc

hook the video output from vcr to dvd input at rear, then hook output from dvd to tv input. note; you can not record protected vcr movies you can only record tv shows from sattelite to vcr or dvd recorder. its best to record straight from sattelite to dvd recorder for picture clarity.

Hi. I recenlty fixed a unit with the same problem and I had to replace the motherboard. I could not get the remote to do a darn thing and the front pannel buttons would not do a thing either. Before going to the extreme, and if you still have functionality via the front pannel buttons, try to reset/format the unit. Keep in mind that this will erase everything on the hard drive. While in the main menu and with no DVD disk inside, press and hold the play and open buttons for about 7 seconds until you get the FORMAT message on the LCD. If this does nothing to leviate your problem, then replacing parts will be needed. I do have plenty of mother boards and hard drives left and would not mind selling them. Thanks.

It sounds like you got the old electrical surge blowout going on there bud. It could be as simple as a bad regulator transistor or IC. the onlt real way to tell is to troubleshoot this unit by getting a service manual and a meter and checking your standby and switched power supply. Now since this is a recorder maybe it is wort a look at by your local repair depot or is there any warrantee left on it at as my book says it has a 1 year warrantee but just dont volenter any info how it went out if ya get my drift. Good Luck
