DGX620 Have lost half my screen

I suspect you'll need to replace the screen, but to be sure you should contact Yamaha customer service and go over the problem with them.

I had similar problem with my DGX620. In my case the display sometimes got blue and sometimes worked fine. The cause was a bad contact of the display flat cable.
I opened the DGX620 and then I cut a small piece of plastic film (35mm negative) with exactly the same width of the flat, disconnect the flat cable and then reconnected it using the film on the other side (non contact side) to increase the pressure and guarantee a good contact. No more problems from nov-2012 till now.

only few technician could do some repair with the screen card or the connections fron screen to cards very complicated usually the screen goes off totally only few could do it luckily by chance.

The connector or the soldering to the circuit board has failed. Replace or resolder the connector.

I would open the unit and see if a cable to the display has fallen off.

You have not mentioned if unit is operating except for that.

If totally inopperative, check power supply to the unit. The display can illuminate well below the operating voltage for the synth.

Have the output transistors checked. That can be a source of failure. This is something you can do yourself if you have electronics experience. If you take it to a tech they should be able to pinpoint the problem by troubleshooting the amp.

Try the contrast control. My DGX505 suddenly had a blank blue screen, I found that mygrand daughter had been fiddling with knobs and switches and discovered one I hadn'y noticed. On the 505 ot is located on the rear panel right next to the USB port. A slight tweaking of the lnob and all was restored. Heart attack avoided. And I learned something from a 4-year old.
