Lexmark X5495 printer will not accept refilled cartridge
Purchased refurbished #35 cartridges and I get a Right Cartridge Incorrect error. I have tried the turning off and on and Lexmark solution is to purchase only their cartridges which i think is unfair and a monopoly on using their product. Can you tell me what to do?
Re: Lexmark X5495 printer will not accept refilled...
The answer is " Every product like Lexmark, Hp etc is designed to use their own cartridges " so if the printer recignises refilled cartridges fine ...its ur good luck ...but if it does not recognise the cartridge then there is nothg which can help you

Make sure that you are inserting genuine Lexmark cartridges and the correct versions for your model. The Lexmark X5495 takes 28/34 black or 29/35 color cartridges.
Try to re-insert your left cartridge and make sure it is properly seated in the carrier.
You can also try to reinsert your old left cartridge to determine if it's a faulty cartridge issue.
Try to remove the cartridges from your printer. Close the cover. Unplug and replug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges. Also, make sure you are using genuine Lexmark cartridges. A refilled/remanufactured cartridge by third-parties might not have the quality compared to genuine ones. If error continues, please contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance.
If this is a refilled cartridge, most likely the electronics have been turned off on the cartridge. I own a cartridge refilling store and I don't refill the Lexmark 36 or 37 because the printers turn off the electronics on these cartridges when they get empty so they can't be refilled. If this is an original Lexmark cartridge, I think that Lexmark is making their printers so extremely sensitive to refills that they even kick out some original manufacturer cartridges. I have had a couple customers that this has happened to and it seems to happen more frequently with prebate cartridges. I recommend exchanging your cartridge for a new one (Lexmark brand).
Hello! 23 and 24 cannot work after a refill. They are, as Lexmark calls them, "return program cartridges", not meant to be refilled, only used once. You need to buy 23a and 24a or 34 and 35 cartridges. You can refill those and they work fine!
Lexmark advertises the cartridges supplied with this printer as cart. #28 and #29. They claim these are nonrefillable. The refillable cartridges are #28a,29a, 34 and 35, the last two being the high yield carts. Make sure you have one of these.
