I have a sony vaio VGN SZ483N and the audio out for earphone is not working all the time. In some days it works, but most of the time, I get no sound when I plug earphones. How can I fix this problem? Thanks.

My sony vaio vpceb24en e series is having a speaker problem, the speaker is not playing any sound in the normal case but if we plug in to earphones it functions smoothly

Buy some contact cleaner and flush the ear plug, and push the head phone jack in and out a few times, and repeat 2 or 3 times hopefully that will return the sound through the speakers.

I've connected the minijack from the laptop to the phono slots red and white on my tv but there is no sound. Could you help me please

Often there is NOT enough output to drive the TV's audio amplifier directly from the earphone's port. You will need a small Pre-amplifier, in between the two, You should also try your "Line Out" as that puts out more signal, than the earphone jack. If that still will not drive it, then toy will need a pre-amp, Radio Shack, or the like will have them. Also ensure your Volume is set high.

I got same clacking noise my vaio cs17g/w so pls help to sort this out thanks

the clacking noise could be coming from the fan blades touching the main frame .
have a look and see if the cooling fan is rotating properly and not making noises

Headphone jack seemingly screwed up

What generally happens to connectors, especially exposed to air is they oxydize.

Buy a can of "Contact Cleaner" from a local Radio Shack and spray it (through the thin tube usually provided) into the jack. One quick push, dont flood it. Take the earphone jack and insert and remove it several times, wiping off excess, which sould clear contacts and it should work normally again. If not it would have to be replaced which is no easy matter requiring an experienced Technician or Factory. Sometimes it cannot be replaced without damaging the Mother Board. This however sounds like a common problem the Contact Cleaner will fox

Cheers,

Good Luck :)
