Our copier is an AR-208D & it has a error code of H4-00 displayed. Can we fix it?

In most cases the flashing H4 or H then 4 code on these machines is caused by voltage fluctuations or surges. Normally there is nothing wrong with the machine and the code is easily reset. Here is the procedure:
Press the following key's in sequence and as quickly as possible (with 4 seconds for the first 4 keys)
Press "#" then the " * " (star) key then the "Clear" key then the " * " key again.
So in other words #, star, C, Star
If done correctly the display should go blank.
Then key in 14 as if you were going to make 14 copies.
Now press the "print" button
The machine should automatically shut down and restart with the H4 code being gone.
If the H4 code comes back after reset then in this case you have a fusing unit problem and will need to have the unit serviced.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Eror Code (H4-00) on a Sharp AR-162

H4-00 indicates a heating/temperature problem in the fuser. The fuser never reached its desired temp to come to ready. Could be a bad thermostat or thermistor. Check fuser for any debris or excessive gunk build-up and clean what you can. The error can be cleared with SIM 14 in service mode.

Code: H4-00, H4-0Q

H4-0 The fusing unit doesn't heat up.

You have to reset fuser errors with simulation 14.
SM 5-1 should turn the lamp on. If lamp blinks on and off it is the thermistor, if it does not it is the lamp, but check the contacts on the lamp/fuser -- they have been known to erode.
