SOURCE: epson powerlite s4 projector is pink

I assume this is an LCD. I don't remember the s4 being a DLP projector.

This sounds like the LCD panel used for the red color has gone out. The image is made up of red, green and blue images layered upon the screen. If the red panel has gone out then there is nothing filtering out the red light in the image. This causes a nice red hue to the whole screen.

It could be a simple open and reconnect fix. I personally have never opened a projector, so I'm not going to walk you through it as I do not know how hard it would be to tinker with. It should eb a cheap fix for a true repair man though.

SOURCE: One of our Epson PowerLite projectors was working

We found that the bulb was dim because it was about to burn out. The projector's filter han't been kept clean, causing it to run hot, which in turn shortened the bulb's life.

Pink center in middle of Epson projector display

You have a problem with the blue UV filter. It has degraded. The UV is no longer being blocked and it has cooked the blue LCD chip as well.

Repair may be possible. But unless your projector is worth at least a grand or more then it is probably not economical.

Epson Powerlite 50C too dim

The ballast module is bad. It controls the lamp. Don't throw away the original lamp. Once the ballast module is replace you'll have 2 good lamps.

Epson 460 powerlite hooked to smartboard green light blinking and no image.

Yes this is most likely the lamp. Does it eventually go back to just a red light?

Epson PowerLite 410W projector (used for a smart board in a classroom) won't project anything or even turn on. Power button (maybe lamp indicator light? I don't really know anything about this...)...

It seems you assume that it is not an overheating problem.
The problem is, the bulb gets really, really hot when using the projector. It doesn't matter whether it has been there without any usage. As you switch it on, it will start to get hot.
But the lamp or other parts of the projector should not get too hot. To control the temperature, air is moved through the projector with the help of fans. Air enters through air filters and move through the projector absorbing heat from hot parts. This prevents these parts from getting overheated.
But what if air doesn't flow freely? Then the parts CAN get overheated.
First, switch on the projector and check whether you can hear the fans working.
Next, switch off the projector and remove power cable.
After about 30 minutes, remove the cover and check whether the air filters are blocked. If they are, clean them with a small brush.
This would probably solve your problem.

My projector has started projecting with a very dim image - very difficult to see even with room lights dimmed. It has been working weel with a great image until now - approx 1.5 years old used an average...

I've got the same problem. Just replaced the bulb but the image is no brighter. Our unit is two years old and operates about 6 hours a day. It is dimmer and more out of focus when run from a Windows computer.
