Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

I changed out the cartridge and the error comees back saying to check cartridge on right. I've done it several times and can't see thing wrong with what I done.

    It is a 2610 All in One that we purchased rebuilt from HP. I cut the machine off, unplugged it, restarted it, reinserted both cartridges and still received the same error message. This morning my husband tried cleaning the contacts with denatured alcohol and that didn't help either. We were told to get another black cartridge refilled and try that. I put in the old one but that didn't help either. Don't know what else to do. Can you help? I need my printer to work properly. Thanks.

    Have a 2610 - All in one Printer. Did try a new HP black cartridge. Still did not work. Wonder if it is something with the connection.

    What model number of HP printer is your printer? Is it a 7200 or 7300 series?

I would try a brand new HP black ink cartridge. Those ink cartridges are not made to be refilled according to HP. If you were to call HP and tell them you had a refilled cartridge they would stop the service call right there and tell you to try a genuine HP cartridge.

    I have seen new cartridges be bad right out of the box (I sometimes work with lots of printers on a daily basis). I would still try a new cartridge, however, I understand the expense of doing that.

Make sure you are inserting the correct version of black cartridge for your model. Try to remove both cartridges from the printer. Close the cover. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reinsert your cartridges. You can also try to insert a different known working black cartridge to determine if the other is faulty.

Try taking the cartridge out and without touching the gold connector pins on the back, clean them with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol. Do the same with the connector pins in the printer. Some times dirt, ink, etc. gets on the pins and does not make good contact. Thus, an error message and perhaps no printing.

My printer comes up with an error saying I need to slide the green tab in the drum/cartridge back and forth several times and return the green tab back to where it belongs. I have done this several times...

Moving the GREEN TAB moves the toner-ink inside the cartridge, to more uniformly spread it.

Since the toner-cartridge is nearly empty, you probably need to replace the toner-cartridge with a "full" one.

Error message says "Remove and check cartridge on right" Its a new cartridge I've been using for a few weeks and it has been working fine. I have removed cartridge several times and even cleaned contacts....

The electronics on the cartridge have gone bad. Sometimes cartridges short. Take the cartridge back to where you bought it (they should give you credit for any remaining ink) and buy a new cartridge.

Is this a Hp cartridge or a cheaper brand?
I got this error myself too with cheaper cartridges.

HP C3100 Printer, changed black ink cartridge and I have done this several times but this time both error lights come on and say check paper & check print cartridge, plus the print cartridge does not...

I did not get problem fixed by your expert, he did not know C3100 printer and how to fix the problem,
I had check all areas of the printer for screws he said to undo and there NO screws then the session ended and I did not get the answer. Please do not charge my American Express for a none solution and a person who did not know my printer.

Ink cartridge error

Check the date on your ink cartridge.  I bet it has expired.  If you put in a "new"cartridge but it is even an HP one with an older date, it may not work.
I had my printer stop in the middle of a print job.  It was printing fine and suddenly would not print.  So I refilled the cartridge with an ink kit I had on hand and reinserted it--no go!  Then I opened a remanufactured cartridge I had bought some time ago and inserted it.  No go, despite the fact I could see ink coming from the jets.  I finally gave up and bought a new HP ink cartridge, and it worked just fine.  But it bugged me why the new one would work and the other two that seemed just fine would not.

Later I learned that HP has a chip that reads the expiration date on the cartridges and that is what keeps those old ones from printing.  I found one trick of setting my date on my computer back to a year earlier than the exp date on the cartridge.  I saw the date on the remanufactured one I had tried earlier was 2005, so I set my computer date to today's date but year 2004.  After forcing me to do print alignments several times and take the remanufactured cartridge out and put it back, I got it to print just fine.  And that 2005 cartridge that would not work earlier is what I am printing with right now.
