These are not only long-lived and reliable but also fairly easy to service.

Turn the water supply off!

The trim cover must be pried off (sharp knife slid under the edge) and then I think there is first a Phillips head that holds the knob on.
Our Moens always came with the necessary wrench to loosen the slotted nut but I think they are also included in the seal kit you should find at any chain 'home improvement' store. It's a simple stamped 'key' used for removing the nut.
I recall that the kits once had illustrations to guide you.

After cleaning up the cylinder and the piston that carries the seals ('O' rings) I have some silicone grease (not heat sink compound-it's gritty with zinc oxide) I use for reassembly; it makes them feel like new again.

With a gentle twist of the piston, slide the renewed assembly back into the cylinder and reverse your removal steps.

Low water pressure in bath shower.

Assuming your pressure is OK in other parts of the house and with other fixtures in the same bathroom, check the showerhead screen for sediment, then pull the cartridge out of the valve body (first remove the cap on the knob, then the knob, then the sleeve with the protruding key-way, then the round trim plate. shut off the service stops, then remove the small retaining clip (needle nose pliers needed) that holds the cartridge in place. then screw the screw that holds the handle in partially to the stem and pry the cartridge out of the valve body by pulling straight out of the valve, I often use a claw hammer on the screw and pad it out from the wall with a thick book (or get a cartridge puller if you don't mind spending $20). You will likely see sediment clogging part of the cartridge, and when you partially open the service stops with the cartridge removed, you will also likely see dirty water and sediment. Thoroughly flush the valve body by opening both service stops for a few seconds and then reverse the process to put the whole thing back together. You may want to change the cartridge and replacements are widely available for the valve you mentioned above. Bring the old one with you as many look similar but are not the same.
Good luck. If you have more questions let me know and I can probably send you some pictures...

Compatible replacement handles for Moen Garden Tub faucet

I dont know if moen made chrome handles for that valve back then. If they did then they will probably be lever handles but they wont turn correctly unless you remove the cartridges and turn them. Iwould suggest probably replacing the whole unit.
