Question about Philips 9P5034C 50" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Blurry picture I purchased a TV 3 years ago. Since I purchased this unit (Philips 50" rear proj.) it shows blurry picture. It looks like it is getting worse. Does anyone have a solution for this. I moved it from place to place in the house because of window light but the problem still there and I'm getting sick of it. Is it the end of this unit or can this one be fixed

The CRT fluid in the blue and green tube are most likely clouded. The set is still good. You just need to replace the fluid. Check with the site www.TvRepairkits.com - they are working on developing a fluid kit that includes a photo instuction quide.

Coolant in crts needs changed. May not be cost affective. You need special equipment and much skill. If you can find servicer that can do it ask them before you schedule the call for what thie wouls cost. I would charge around $350.00. Go view a new set at 1080i and it this set at it;s best is not even close.

Philips Magnavox 9P5031C 50-Inch Projection TV has a red/orange blur the whole picture is blurry

If your TV looks 3D, warped, or distorted it likely has a convergenge problem.
If however it just looks dull, washed out, redish, greenish, or blueish or if it looks like objects on the screen have halos the fluid in the lens has soured.
You can search google for parts or you can get the parts with repair instructions from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com

We have a 52 inch rear projection Mitsubishi not sure of the model number and the picture is starting to go blurry with reds and greens at the bottom of the screen

Here is another similar problem with a Mitsubishi Rear Proj. TV and it has some things to try and an estimate if that is the problem.

"Cost of convergence repair is always around $400"

http://en.allexperts.com/q/TV-VCR-Stereo-1749/Mitsubishi-WS55511-Projection-TV-1.htm

You could also try messing around in the menu for convergence adjustments. Usually it will let you adjust at 8 points on the screen.

Blurry and colors are seperated red green white

if you are viewing from a projection tv, chances are you have to go thru the menu of the tv to 'picture tuning'. here it gives you different things that could be fixed. one to look for is 'lamp alignment'. It should show all the colors and lines with directions to bring them into focus. This should fix the blurriness and 3-d red/green/white separations. hope this helps you!

thats a problem with the Blue CRTs coolant needing replacement. If you look directly into the blue and green CRTs while its playing you should notice a bunch of crud inside the lens indicating that the coolant needs replacement. Red picture cannot adust with convergence

You have bad CRT Fluid, the green and Blue tube need the fluid changed. This is a messy and possibly dangerous to the tv proposition, you will want to call someone to change the fluid, you will probably spend $450+ for the repair, but it should look pretty good when done, possibly better than it has looked in years.
