I didn't make a copy of windows 7 starter or restore point from my asus eee 1015 pe. Now I have system problems and I don't now how to recovery my computer to the factory settings. I was trayed...

If you can boot into Windows 7, Open Backup and Restore by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Backup and Restore.
In the left pane, click Create a system repair disc, and then follow the steps. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

If you cannot boot up, you can do the above process on any Windows 7 PC. You will need a usb flash drive or a blank CD or DVD to create the repair disk.

Window cannot access the specific device,path,file. dont have appropiate permission

Ok this happens when the user account don't have the permission to acces the folder, disk etc.
Verify that the account you are using have the permission to access it. Right click the object you are trying to access and choose properties, then security (I don't know your window versions but is very similar in all versions). Check if the user account show in the box and the type of permission. If is not in the list should be add. To add you need administrator account privileges. çlick edit and add the user and the type of permission to grant. gabytek_1.gif

When i go into windows updates i get a error saying error found code 80070005 what do i do

The error code 80070005 usually means that you do not have enough permission to install updates.

First please confirm you have logged on an account with administrative privileges.

If the issue still occurs, lets' try the following method to reset the permissions:

1. Please download the subinacl.msi file from the following link and save the installation patch onto the Desktop:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e8ba3e56-d8fe-4a91-93cf-ed6985e3927b&displaylang=en#AffinityDownloads

2. Please go to the Desktop and double click the downloaded file.

3. Please select the C:\Windows\System32 folder as the Destination Folder during the installation. Later we will use this tool to reset the permission settings on the current machine.

Note: If the UAC (User Account Control) window is prompted for permission to continue, please click Continue.

4. Click Start, in the Start Search bar, type: "notepad" (without quotes) and press Enter.

5. Copy the following commands and then paste them into the open Notepad window:

@echo off

subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /grant=administrators=f

subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CURRENT_USER /grant=administrators=f

subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT /grant=administrators=f

subinacl /subdirectories %SystemDrive% /grant=administrators=f

subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /grant=system=f

subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CURRENT_USER /grant=system=f

subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT /grant=system=f

subinacl /subdirectories %SystemDrive% /grant=system=f

@Echo =========================

@Echo Finished.

@Echo =========================

@pause

6. After pasting the above commands, please close the Notepad window. Choose Save when you are prompted to save the file. Type "reset.bat" as the file name and choose Desktop from the left panel as the save location.

7. Refer to the Desktop and right click the reset.bat file, and then choose "Run as administrator."

8. You will see a DOS-like window processing.

Note: It may take several minutes. Please be patient. When it is completed, you will be prompted with the message: "Finished, press any key to continue".

Try to install the updates again.

This issue can be also caused by third-party security programs such as firewalls and anti-virus software. You can disable or remove them to check the issue.

I want toopen to have adofe flash player but internet doesnt permit to loaded

The following guide, originally written for Firefox 2, has been used successfully on Firefox 3, Firefox 3.5 and Firefox 3.6. Users of Firefox Portable edition (versions 3, 3.5 and 3.6) also have been successful using this guide.
The Windows computers available at my University permits login only by autenticated users (students) who don't have Administrator access and permissions.
Installing software on those PC is then not possible.
Recently they finally installed Firefox 2 but without the Flash plugins, which is absolutly useful/needed.
I then tryed to install the Flash Player using the "standard" way (click on the missing plugin link then install the plugin..). However without administrator plugins it was not possible to install.
Then I started doing some tests trying to install the plugin manually. Now I have it installed and working perfectly!
This is how I managed to install it without administrator permissions:
  1. Download the XPI archive of the Flash Player Plugin to your hard disk (right click on the download link then "Save link as.."). XPI archives are only ZIP files containing the files used by the plugins. A more updated version of the plugin is also available here.
  2. So you can safely rename the file you just downloaded, called flashplayer-win.xpi, into flashplayer-win.zip (you are changing its extension from .xpi to .zip)
  3. Extract the files in the archive. You can use any program capable of opening .zip files (WinZip, WinRAR or the free and great 7-zip). There are also websites which can uncompress archives: wobzip.org.
  4. Copy the files flashplayer.xpt and NPSWF32.dll to %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Plugins\
    • %APPDATA% is not a real folder. It's an alias. By inserting it in your windows explorer address bar, you'll be redirected to the real folder which holds your applications profiles and settings. The location of this folder depends on various setting that's why we need the alias and not an absolute path.
    • You can open this folder simply choosing "Start ? Run ? Type in %APPDATA% ? OK".
    • In case you don't have a Plugins folder you can create one and place your files there.
  5. Restart Firefox
  6. Enjoy your flash websites!

Hi, I'm having problem opening my backup file from my USB that I copy from my old laptop to my new laptop. When I try to open the back up file their is an error saying: unable to open file. file maybe...

you need to to take ownership of a file or a folder then copy them over
How to take ownership of a fileYou must have ownership of a protected file in order to access it. If another user has restricted access and you are the computer administrator, you can access the file by taking ownership.

To take ownership of a file, follow these steps:
  1. Right-click the file that you want to take ownership of, and then click Properties.
  2. Click the Security tab, and then click OK on the Security message (if one appears).
  3. Click Advanced, and then click the Owner tab.
  4. In the Name list, click Administrator, or click the Administrators group, and then click OK.

    The administrator or the administrators group now owns the file.
To change the permissions on the file that you now own, follow these steps:
  1. Click Add.
  2. In the Enter the object names to select (examples) list, type the user or group account that you want to have access to the file. For example, type Administrator.
  3. Click OK.
  4. In the Group or user names list, click the account that you want, and then select the check boxes of the permissions that you want to assign that user.
  5. When you are finished assigning permissions, click OK.
  6. You can now access the file.
How to take ownership of a folderYou must have ownership of a protected folder in order to access it. If another user has restricted access and you are the computer administrator, you can access the folder by taking ownership.

To take ownership of a folder, follow these steps:
  1. Right-click the folder that you want to take ownership of, and then click Properties.
  2. Click the Security tab, and then click OK on the Security message (if one appears).
  3. Click Advanced, and then click the Owner tab.
  4. In the Name list, click your user name, or click Administrator if you are logged in as Administrator, or click the Administrators group. If you want to take ownership of the contents of the folder, select the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects check box.
  5. Click OK, and then click Yes when you receive the following message: You do not have permission to read the contents of directory folder name. Do you want to replace the directory permissions with permissions granting you Full Control?All permissions will be replaced if you click Yes.

    Note folder name is the name of the folder that you want to take ownership of.
  6. Click OK, and then reapply the permissions and security settings that you want for the folder and its contents.

Cant access files...

Boot up into safe mode, logging in as the Administrator, not your account.

Go into the security settings for the folder and change the permissions. The easiest thing would be to give Everyone full access. Don't forget to promulgate the permissions to the directory tree as well.

Good luck

God Bless

Get 'file permission error' when I try to save in Word.

This error means you dont have suffecient priviledges to save. It sounds like you need to be logged into an Administrator account. If you are, Right click the icon for the flash drive, And click Run As Administrator

Copying file

Does more than one person use your computer and do you have separate identities. When you sign on, do you choose your identity? You will need to go to
start
control panel
user accounts and see who the administrator is
Changes can be made here, but the administrator has to make them

Good luck.
