My printer is a HP- 6210, Message: "remove and

Hello Cliff, welcome to FixYa.

Hard Reset the printer by doing the following:
  • Remove all the ink cartridges.
  • While the printer in ON, unplugged the power cable from the power source.
  • Disconnect the USB cable at the back of the printer (if your printer is connected through a USB cable)
  • Restart your computer.
  • Connect back the USB cable.
  • Plug the power cable to its power source.
  • Turn ON the printer if it does not turn ON automatically.
  • Install the ink cartridges.
  • If the printer prompts for an print head alignment, please do so.

If the problem persists, replace the ink cartridge. The cartridge might be defective since you already have tried to clean the contacts.

Keep me posted.

I have upgraded to Windows 7 and my Lexmark X6170 will print but not scan. I need the scanner badly. Please advise on solution.

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Rebrick (pull out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds).

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list again, then try to print again.

Hi

Try to restart the print spooler service. Here is the link http://www.fixya.com/support/r8758623-check_fix_print_spooler_service_causes.

Please try this solution.
Remove the USB cable into the printer and leave the printer on.
Remove all the cartridges.
Close the cartridge door and wait for the INSERT INK MESSAGE to appear.
Disconnect the power cable and from the power source supply.
Move the carriage using your hand from the original position to the other side of the printer and then move it back to original position. Wait for couple of minutes
Reconnect power cord and turn on the printer.
Return all the ink cartridges and close the door. Wait for the calibration process.
Print the test page to check if it working.
Reconnect the USB cable and try to print again.

Post comment if you need more help. Regards

"The printer is offline. Check that

Issues or errors within the operating system might also cause printer offline issue. Users having offline printer issue are advised to clean the registry of the system, check integrity of the system files and also remove any malware infections using an updated antivirus program. Users must also stop the printer service active on the system and restart it as the issue might be because of errors. Removing the errors from the system would get the printer working without issues.

My printer can not read the cartages

First remove the power source.

Try cleaning the contacts on both the cartridge and the printer. I'd use a soft dry lint free cloth first.

I know your's isn't a HP printer but, HP reccommend you use distilled water and cotton buds to clean. They don't reccommend using alcohol based cleaning agents.

If you use water, you must wait for it to evapourate before inserting the cartridges and switching on.

Both the orange and the green lights are blinking and printer will not print.

The printer is waiting to receive a document to print. Choose the print command from the software program that you are using.

Wait for the printer to complete the current task.

OR

If the printer continues to blink after several seconds, follow these steps:
    1. Turn the printer off, and then turn it back on.
    2. If it does not turn off, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
    3. Unplug the power cord from the power source. Wait 30 seconds.
    4. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
    5. Plug the power cord into the power source.
  • Restart the computer and the printer. Try printing again.
  • Make sure there is a direct connection from the printer to the computer. Remove scanners, switchboxes, and so on.
  • Try another cable.
  • Try connecting the printer to another computer. If the printer prints, then the problem was with the main computer, possibly a software or device conflict
