Can not retrieve password for my dell personal inspirion 15

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/ http://67.20.82.163/

Your computer has likely gotten a virus which is causing this to happen. This post in a bleepingcomputer.com forum lists several ways to remove it. Once you get the computer to start up again, download the free version of Malwarebytes' AntiMalware program. Run it and let it scan your computer. It's a very effective program to clean out bad software.

Hope you're back up and running soon. Thanks for using Fixya!

Try booting into safe mode and from their you should be able to attempt a restore.
Or you can try a restoration back to factory, if you have not removed the partition.
Hope this has helped you.

Stuck on "loading your personal settings..." screen.

try booting to the SAFE MODE (F8 at boot) and see if you can log in to the ADMIN account from the safe mode. If you can, then create a new user profile, then reboot to normal mode and try booting to the NEW profile. If that works, then the old profile is likely corrupt

System won't log on

try safe mode. If it works, use system restore to go back to a previous working configuration. If safe mode does not work, try the last known-good configuration. Restart the computer, then as soon as the Dell logo shows up on the screen, press the F8 key repeatedly until you enter the Advanced Options Menu. Use the arrow keys to select Last Known-Good Configuration, then press Enter.
